Good to hear. Also for those of you that have the stock radio, could you please use the latest console and try the following

1. Use the "debug" firmware
2. Turn the car to ON (no need to start)
3. You should now see data flood the console
4. Click BREAK
5. Toggle F and C on the temperature display
6 Click Break again
7. save and send the console text

This should help me pinpoint exactly where the command is that changes the units

Tried latest Console - 1.2.6 - works without Crashing :-)

Updated to "RxDuino_7_23_2012_03_54_pm_int" firmware and went for a drive.

Nice to see Deg. C for the temperatures.

You will need to provision for "UK" peculiarities vs rest of "International" though & retain MPH rather than KPH for speed...

Did not really do any other in-depth testing with it though or check out BT functionality etc. (I expect that would be the same for this release?)

Oh yes indeed, will do thanks

If you could actually shoot me some logs using the debug firmware that would be fantastic, i believe i talked about it in post 160. If you could use the latest console, and once it is up and running and the messages are all printed to the screen, click BREAK - toggle F and C on the outside temp, and then click BREAK again.

Then do the same for bluetooth on / off.

It would be great to make sure that the international messages are the same as the ones here.

I had a thought tonight - can switch the Speedo between KPH and MPH - is there something you can monitor here to "detect" and "switch" the RxD accordingly?

Noticed the "outside / inside" temperature switch on OEM radio did not work tonight (or else the display output does not work - the button press does not "beep" however, like most of the other radio controls - will test if it usually does!).

I may be able to do some console captures with these buttons being pressed, if it helps? (but struggling to find time to wrestle MY laptop of my wife these days!) (Oh, I see you've requested this )

I also noticed that the Wheel speed was significantly changed from previous update... (It used to be "just below" MPH speed - but now is quite a bit "above" - was the calc wrong - does this need calibrating against different wheels / tyres??)

A couple of things - no idea how to:
a) turn BT on/off (other than either have proximity of a BT phone or not - I've already pushed forward these logs - do you want them again with new console?)
b) switch temperature between C & F.

Yes - would be best to "Match" what the car does - but maybe you need a "set-up" screen where some items can be toggled? (Can the RxD "Store" values without being flashed?)

Thanks for doing your testing. Sorry for my lack of replies, I have literally been living in my car debugging the radio issue and have made some significant progress. I will give you guys an in depth analysis tomorrow with a possible firmware update

K so I really haven't got many debug firmware logs, so I am working with what I have been given by a few of you. I have uploaded a new firmware that is currently compiled as a US version (no international units). Please give it a shot and lets see how this works. I haven't fixed the bluetooth or satellite issue yet, but hopefully the display is a bit better.

Have the car home in garage now! Trying the new console and firmware. Will also try to make a data log for you following earlier instructions.

Sent a log file capturing degree changing. Hope it helps. It's great using the console for everything now. Updates work great now. Latest firmware very briefly displays, even when radio is off the display is so brief it's almost not readable. Only appears when hitting cancel but not always even then. Currently using the 7/19 firmware for English units.

Glad the console is working as intended, actually the logs that you sent using the latest console are brilliant. I was able to find the following happening:

I found that 0x3BA is the address of the HVAC controls. Now the question is, exactly what each bit or group of bits is controlling, and which one tells the HVAC to display *C .

So I dont know if any of you tried setting the clock with the RxD, but I can admit that it is very flakey, mainly because the way that the OEM system works when setting times (you need to hold the button down, etc). I found the address where I can write the time directly to the system. Working on incorporating that stay tuned.

Yes, I tried unsuccessfully. I just used the console.

I updated the firmware and it now gets stuck:

User Connected To Device at 06:49:53 PMInitializing...
Current Monitor Pid: 14
Byte Count: 2
Current Monitor Text: RPM:
Current Mode Text: ECU Monitor
Display Text: Zoom Zoom
Custom Delay: 76
Nightly: 8/13, 7.49pm
Slave Select For Chipset 10
Setting Baud
HSCAN Initialized
Slave Select For Chipset 9
Setting Baud
MSCAN Initialized
Printing Welcome Message

I tried via console to update firmware again and it crashes so I used manual update to reapply. Same issue. Plugged in device to RX8 and the normal area for RXDuino is blank. When I scroll through, I can get the descriptions but not the actual monitors, it is just blank. I am reverting to the older nightly build.

Could you give RxDuino_8_15_2012_08_07_pm.hex a shot when you get a chance?

This firmware should fix your lack of data. Also, this incorporates half of the clock fix, basically will set the clock to 12:00 if you hold cancel on the clock mode (so dont do it yet if your clock is right lol).

Btw, figured out how to set military time, so I will incorporate that in the next nightly when the clock mode works fully.

Oh i just realized what is wrong, I disabled console printing of modes, I will turn it back on, you should see data on the RX8 screen though no?

edit: k give RxDuino_8_15_2012_08_25_pm.hex a shot to see console text.

NP, it is finished uploading and is live. The response time of the cancel button seems to be delayed as well.

I'll be off line for about an hour; It's P90X time... I'll hop back on when I'm finished.

Could you by chance give RxDuino_8_20_2012_06_30_pm.hex a shot and let me know if it fixed your display issues? I wasn't able to test this one myself yet.

Still not working correct. If I plug it in and then turn the car on, I have the same issues. With the car running, if I unplug and plug in the RXD, the display will become active but the cruise buttons still don't control it properly. For example on the ECU monitor, I could only scroll to three items before it stopped working. Holding cancel also doesn't work correct.
