Bhammer it sounds like it is only an obd2 check in Texas, right? If so he can easily pass emissions without the cat on. There is a DIY on it in the s1 section.
Correct. There are a couple SII guys that have tried the SI mod and it doesn't work as the CEL comes on. The current method I know a couple folks are using is the: 1. reset CEL 2. use computer to read for all but the Catalyst monitor to reset (can't have more than 1 not ready) 3. Get to the testing center very soon The problem with this is that it can be 2 miles or 30 miles before the final check is complete (drive cycle) on the catalyst and the CEL comes on. One guy I was talking with said he drove 7 miles from work to a testing center and it came on as he pulled in the driveway. |
It depends, usually it takes between 30ish and 400+ miles for my cel to come on. Lately it has been coming on more frequently but in the past it has taken a very long time. I have emissions coming up soon so I will be doing it the same way you said which worked last year.

Went and got my smog test and passed today. Maybe my car is just a freak but it I had every test passed except the evap test, it said the cat and oxygen sensor were functioning perfectly fine. No cel still and I am over 100 miles since I reset it.

Do you ever think that there will be one release for the S1? |
Unfortunately not sorry, the S1 uses a totally different communications bus for the information display. I would look around for the GOODBox.

Anyone having issues with the RxDuino software? I can't seem to get mine working anymore. I think a Windows Update borked it.
Paimon, I haven't messed with it in a while - sorry for leaving you hanging last time. I wanted to try that last firmware you sent me. Can you send me the manual updater? |
Hey bud, you mean you are having issues with the windows software? are you getting an error or something when you run it? or when you are trying to update the firmware?

If it keeps up, I'll just fire up a new Windows VM and give it a go tonight. I did a bunch of .net updates and I am sure one of them borked it. I was hoping to use the manual updater to update the firmware in the meantime. I didn't want to mess with the RXDuino until I got inspection done...lol Now I have a year to wire this bastage in permanently. :) |

Sorry for the delay in my responses guys, Thanks for that stack trace, I know exactly what the issue is and will fix it as soon as I get home.

All set guys, fire up the console and all should work now. Sorry, I had moved one of the xml files that is used to check if a new version is available. Restored said file.

Going to flash mine in a few minutes. |
Looking to purchase one of these ASAP! Any news on a new group buy Paimon?

Hey guys, sorry to revive an old thread. I've recently picked up an RxDuino that's never been updated, and I really want to update the firmware. Paimon's site "therxduino.com" is now gone and was the only place it was hosted. If any of you guys have any of the big releases or daily drops, please shoot me a note so we can exchange emails. I'm excited to get it going, but it needs some help.

I only ever used it to change the clock in my car since I had an aftermarket radio...lol It was fun when I had it wired in though. |
Thanks man. If anyone else has anything, please let me know. The zip file above is for the programming interface / console but doesn't include any firmware. That's the final piece I'm missing. If any good neighbor out there has any old firmware load, please reach out to me.
