Installed AutoExe wheel and knob plus Redline shift boot

My new-to-me R3's interior was a little rough when I bought it this winter. The original steering wheel and knob were pretty beat up, so I bought the AutoExe stuff from MazMart. Since I was going to replace all of that, I thought it made sense to go ahead and get a leather shift boot to match--I went with black and red from Redline. I installed these today as part of an interior refresh--I also shampooed the carpets, seats, and door inserts, and dropped in some new 40th Anniversary floor mats, which I like more than the normal RX-8 mats.

The Redline shift boot matches the stock R3 interior perfectly. The leather is high quality, the stitching is uniform and perfectly matches OEM. It looks like it belongs in there. It's much nicer than the stock vinyl.

The AutoExe stuff is very nice--the leather is soft and rich, though the stitching isn't perfectly uniform. The AutoExe red stitching is a little brighter than the boot stitching and OEM stitching, but the difference isn't as big as it seems in the pictures.

Overall, I'm very happy with this interior refresh. It feels like a new car.

The installations were very easy. The knob and boot don't require and special tools, but it's easier if you have a set of panel pry tools. For the wheel, you need a 13/16" socket, and you will probably want a breaker bar and a steering wheel puller. I used the "OEMTOOLS steering wheel puller" on Amazon. Besides that, all you need is a screwdriver and a socket set.
