Crooked AutoExe Steering Wheel

3 Attachment(s)
Hey folks.

Got my AutoExe steering wheel today, and while I liked the way it feels, there is a problem. The steering wheel is crooked no matter how I adjusted it.

It appears to me that the teeth on the AutoExe steering wheel are misaligned. With the OEM steering wheel, I could set it straight ahead, but with the AutoExe, I could not get it straight. It's either crooked to the right or the left and I could notice it when I am driving.

I have emailed MazMart about this, but I just wanted to see some opinions from other folks here who may have this steering wheel.

OEM(with cover, but without controls):
Attachment 286254

AutoExe:
Attachment 286255
Attachment 286256

Thanks!

I think I figured out something.

The workshop manual mentioned that you could adjust the steering angle. Might just have the dealer/a shop do that and alignment.

Is that right?

Yah, if you adjust the tie rods in a complimentary way, you can straighten the steering wheel without changing toe.

This is actually a way you can tell if your alignment tech is worth a damn. The newer (last decade or two?) alignment racks will tell you to straighten the wheel and then it will take a measurement. Then it will compensate for any accidental wheel movement after that and tell you how to adjust toe regardless of how the wheel moves. If a tech using modern equipment can't get the steering wheel on your car straight, that tech is probably incompetent.
