Bluetooth Audio

Ok, so my new car is making me feel dumb. I'm trying to figure out how to play music from my phone through my '11 GT w/ navi. There is a BT Audio source button, but it's grey'd out so it doesn't do anything. I just got a LG Droid Revolution, so both the car BT and the phone BT are new to me, but I have it paired and I can make calls with it.
Is anybody playing BT music through the factory BT? If so, what am i missing? I've searched the fourm and I can't seem to find an answer, which makes me feel even dumber. Either I don't know how to search effectively, or everybody else has figured it out without help.

cars manual should have something to that effect in it...

i know when i had my Kenwood in my other car, i had to pair it first, and after that was just as easy as selecting it on the phone... id kill for an 09+ GT w/Nav so your lucky there lol.

I'll search and see if i find anything (before any SII owners chime in)

Same problem

Hi guys i am the proud new owner of a 2010 R3 and i am having the same problem as tmc3.

I can get my phone paired to make calls but i can not get audio to play. I cannot find anything in the owners manual about it.

My friend has a 2010 mazda3 and HE CAN DO bluetooth audio by pressing the media button twice. he also has more of a base package (no leather, sunroof) and his stereo is capable.

Do i need to go to a dealership and get a firmware upgrade or something?

Thanks :yesnod:

After some research I found this on the Mazda website.

It appears that the inferior Mazda 3 has superior bluetooth compatiblity. Why would the bluetooth audio technology be available in a Mazda 3 but not the RX3 GT with the top of the line audio system?!

Because the Mazda3 was just totally redesigned for 2010. Remember, it is the best selling Mazda. The S2 RX-8 is just a few changes from the S1s, not a total rework. Mazda probably figures, why even bother!

Someday I may end up getting this add on for the bluetooth audio & HD radio:

I took a look, that sounds like just what the doctor ordered. I'm a little pissed that I have to buy something for my car to do what I thought it would do from the factory. I do have a question though if you have seen this being used. Do you finally get to use the iPod and BT Audio buttons on the Navi screen?
