Why am I having bad luck looking for a front bumper cover for a SII?
All im looking for is a stock looking one for my SII. Everyone and their brother makes one for an SI. I purchased this 09 with a wrecked front end, and needing a complete front bumper. I found a reinforcement bar, but not the rest!

If your missing the fog lights that is what probably explains the high price. The R3 bumper and non R3 bumper covers run the same price from the dealer last time I checked. It was adding the R3 front lips that made the price difference. Just run without them if your on a budget. I would skip the fogs too. Also did you check the Mazdatrix aftermarket fiberglass front bumper? You have to remember, they did not sell many S2s. And usually when wrecked, the front is usually what gets damaged so your not going to find any really easy. |
There is one locally on craigslist :dunno: I know www.revvinsevens.com and www.mazmart.com have them as well
|
The s2 is still pretty new to the market. There are not a lot of aftermarket parts available for it yet is my guess. You may have to go to the dealer.

9krp- i contacted the guy on craigs list, that unit was pretty beat. i also tried curtis in texas, and he doesnt have one. maz mart is the same price as my dealer, so not much of a savings there. I was also looking for an aftermarket one, close to stock or r3 style.

www.onlinemazdaparts.com ?
An aftermarket one will end up being fairly expensive as well... |

Below is a bumper cover in detail and is Labled #1. OnlineMazdaParts.com usually has the best prices on NEW OEM Mazda Parts and they have the cover itself listed at $340.00 + shipping. Even though they usually ship purchases over $100 for free, since this item is a freight item they try to work out a deal on the shipping. When I ordered a Fender from them, they were able to work out a deal and send it to me for $40 because its such a large item. http://onlinemazdaparts.com/schematics/5/5455008.gif |

Not bad, definitely one of the better looking ones I've seen
|
def nice. I also was told from another member that if I use the R3 one, that I need to add another 300-500 in parts besides the cover. And that cover only around $350.. so def somethg to think about. How was the fit and finish?
|
The initial fit and finish was pretty good but it is fiberglass so it needs to be professionally installed. My buddies body shop did the work and he said the main points that needed work were the fog light areas. But he does mainly high end euro cars (Porsche and Mercs mainly) and he said that most fiberglass parts needs work before installation, even the really expensive stuff.
