R3 Carbon Fiber Sideskirts

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone point me to a place or Vendor where I can buy some gloss carbon fiber Sideskirts that will fit a 2009+ RX8 R3 please?

I have had no joy in ordering the ones RE Amemiya claim to sell, with Japanparts.com sending me FRP ones by mistake and RHDJapan telling me they are now discontinued.

I notice Seibon do some but only for the Series 1. Would these fit an R3?

I am not interested in getting my current ones wrapped before anyone suggests this.

Many Thanks!

The side skirts are interchangeable from 2003-2011 RX-8's. And carbon fiber is played out.

Thanks for letting me know, Guess I'll go with the seibon S1 skirts then. 9K I already have the AMEMIYA carbon front splitter and rear canards so want the side skirts to complete the look and finish it off. Apparently they broken their mould so the item is discontinued.

IF you have well fitting R3 skirts why go with cheap aftermarket ones. If you want CF just get the R3 skirts partially overlayed in CF. But really making something look carbon fiber that is not or installing fake carbon fiber is pretty ricer.

That would be ideal for me, I just need to find a company in the UK that does it... Found loads that would dip them (hydro graphics) but as you say I'm after real CF.

Just an update on this - Shine Auto Project are making me a full set of Type-F sideskirts in Carbon Fiber with the same weave pattern to match my Amemiya front splitter and rear canards.

Happy Days!

lol, i'm in a group buy with the RX7 lot, so you're probably right...

Take it you had experience of their products? What are they like and what can I expect in terms of quality & fitment?

I have never bought anything myself but I have helped install a couple of parts on RX-8's and FD's and quality has been marginal at best. The RX-8 bumper we installed was way off. My buddy just did an overhaul on his FD (widebody, etc) and he wanted some Shine parts and they basically told him that they were buddy with other stuff and that they would get to it when they get to it,. Supply and demand I guess.

They shipped pretty fast to be fair and look amazing.

Looks good. Shine side skirts seem to fit OK but their bumper quality is lacking.

My buddy just got a bumper from Shine and the craftsmanship was horrible. He is probably not even going to be able to use it and he is a professional body guy by trade.
