R3 Body Parts on non-R3 Trim
 

Hello,

I've been looking into getting a series 2 for some time now, but have had little luck finding a decent R3 model. I've considered the idea of buying the R3 body parts from a Mazda OEM parts store and equipping them to non-R3. After calling a few dealers, they are unable to give me an answer.

So my question is, how difficult, or is it even possible, to equip R3 body parts like the Front Fascia and rocker panels to a non-R3 model?

Here are the things I can think off my head:

The front bumper is pretty much just plug and play.

The side skirts/rocker panels will require you to remove the small flaps in front of the rear wheels and front mud guards if they are installed on non-R3 trims. Otherwise shouldn't be too difficult to install.

Rear spoiler will be a bigger pain than you'd think. Manual non-R3 comes with a small "duck lip" type spoiler, which have different mounting holes versus the R3 spoiler. This is the reason most part websites will warn your the spoiler is "automatic only". You either have to buy a new trunk lid or find a crashed automatic trunk lid without the spoiler/R3 trunk lid with the spoiler on it.

Wheels are obviously plug and play, but those 19" can fetch quite a bit of money nowadays.

Seats shouldn't be too difficult. No details from me, sorry.

Bilstein shocks should just hook right up.

The only thing I am not sure is the foam-injected cross member.

Ok cool, I'd actually prefer the car spoilerless so that will be a non-issue.
