Need Paint after being Keyed.....

So I come out of work today and then go to my other job and see that my hood has been keyed.....Anyway, I am asking if there is any paint that is able to fix up my baby....It's Black Mica..35N...I am going to try Meguires(spelling) Rubbing Compound and hopefully that works..if it doesnt, I am looking for some way to fix it all!! Please help!

the only way to fix it all is to have a paint shop do whatever it takes (hard to say without pics).

Sorry to hear this...BASTARDS!

I may not clean/wash my cars as regularly as I did when I was a kid, BUT, any mongrel that touches my car dirty or clean will get a kick up the backside if I caught them in the act.

There is nothing more than I hate when other 'dis' my wheels, and I hate supermarket car parks, in fact I hardly ever park in one...:)

If you can actually feel the groove in your paint or see metal then your chances of buffing it out are non existent. Hopefully its not really deep and you can buff it mostly out. You will probably have to pay to have the hood resprayed. Non of those "touch up" kits work it will probably make it look worse.

Consider yourself (somewhat)lucky that it was only your hood. My friend had someone key her car all the way around on every panel down to metal a few months after she bought it. She never got it fixed because doing a proper paint job on a whole car is pretty expensive.

If someone ever keys my car or does anything like that to it, they better hope I don't see them in the process. I always park in the north forty of any parking lot, but I am starting to think that is a bad idea.

Where are you located?

My 2011 Sonata was keyed in November, and I had "Bumper Doc" in San Diego, CA do the repairs.

A total of FIVE panels had to be completely repainted.

They did an absolutely spectacular job.

I went through insurance. Only had to pay my deductible. No raise in premium.

I do that sometimes...but it also causes some jerk to think to himself..."oh, look at this guy..thinks his car is so awesome he needs two spots...ill teach him a lesson, *grabs key*".

No matter what you do, you cant win. Park far away, park close, park in two spots...it dont matter...you are never safe.
