HID Bulbs - OEM Type

While searching for the brightest bulb for a 35w setup (OEM ballast, wiring), the best came out to be Philips 85122+.

I took out a light in the car, and read the label as also Philips 85122+. So, I question if these lights automaticly come with our RX-8?

I bought my R3 used, so I don't know if it came with the 85122+, or was later replaced 85122+.

That's stock.

The 85122+ is your main driving HID bulb, just to clarify, and you would do better replacing the fogs with an HID kit. Even if you found a brighter bulb to replace the 85122+ I wouldn't think that it would be brighter than if you replaced the fogs. That's just me. . .

The stock bulb is a 4700k, right?, check out something that doesn't exceed 6000k. Higher gets a pretty/annoying color spectrum but you loose a little brightness as a result.

Okay. I was just wondering if the bulbs came stock.

Interior lighting was already changed to LEDs. UV Dome, Doors. White map, vanity and glove lights - I wanted to keep lights that I might use functional. I need to swap out my red footwells to UV.

I was going to replace the fog lights with a 3000K, 9006 bulb, 35w ballast V-LED kit for the fog lights. I decided against that and to return both kits and the D2S replacement bulbs to V-LEDs. Mostly because I read a lot about HID lights - Kits, bulbs, ballasts, wiring... It's not fair to the other drivers to be blinded. I don't like it when people blind me and I can't see sh*t.

The 85122+ bulb is 4300K, it's the brightest bulb available for the D2S.

You did answer my question - it comes with the car from the factory :)

I was pondering the same idea with the fogs and again with a 3k. I'd like to match the headlights but as you said it would blind other drivers. My thought was that with a 3k it would not be as bad? Kinda... Right?

I also returned bulbs to v-leds when trying to figure out what worked best for the interior. Lesson learned is that the x2 bulbs are bright as shit and waaaay too much for interior applications. At least in our cars.
