Looking to get an aftermarket ECU or tuner. Need advice.

I recently purchased a 2011 R3. I’m in love with it. One issue though. My car is constantly throwing codes for my car delete, and it seems like if I leave that code long enough with out erasing it the car starts to misfire slightly. I’ve heard of people having issues with Versa tune customer service and there aren’t many options really. I wanna optimize performance and eliminate the issues with the O2 sensor from the cat delete. Previous owner upgraded plugs wires and coils. Not sure if this may be my misfire issue but the ECU question still remains. What have you folks been running and what are the pros and cons you’ve had. Doesn’t seem to be much discussion here.

my cat is on for an hour to get E-checked every 2 years. Rest of the time it has a Racing Beat Dual Resonated Midpipe. With the code. It never misfires. If you have a misfire you should check your ignition components. Coils, plugs, wires, etc. How many miles since you changed them?
by "upgraded" what do you mean? In my opinion OEM is best. The rev C coils I put in my R3 have been perfect.

From what I have read the cat code should not have any affect on the way your car runs. It sounds like you may have an unrelated misfire issue.

To eliminate the code, I am also interested in the simplest solution. My understanding is you will need a reflash/tuner which can be expensive. Especially if you are using it just to eliminate the CEL.

the previous owner upgraded them. I believe he said all of the components are NGK. I would like to run either the oem or the ones that are super popular around here. Can’t remember the name off hand but they sell them on the same website that is the primary dealer for racing beat stuff.

I figured it was unrelated. Just wasn’t sure. I want to modify the car and prepare it for some porting and stuff once I need to do a rebuild so I was thinking about trying to find a plug and play solution maybe from someone like haltech. I’m willing to spend the money if it improved the car. Rotary tuning is notoriously difficult so I wanna find a solution that makes things a bit easier.

I'm also looking an ecu for my 2010 s2. My engine is having low compression. Right now looking at the possibility to swap a 13b-rew to my car, but stuck at the ecu options ( I want to retain all stock functionalities). Most of the swap is happening on S1 and they can use the adaptronic ecu.

If it needs to pass OBD2 emissions then you picked the wrong model year. Or at least I’m not aware of anyone with an S2 who was able to accomplish that. If it doesn’t have to meet OBD2 then the Adaptronic can be hardwired in place of the OE pcm. Or rather, it likely has to be piggy-backed with the OEM ECU.

Mazdaedit will block your cel and enable tuning . Sounds like that's what you need to me.

Could you give me a bit more info about Mazdaedit? Where to purchase/hardware necessary?
