Bypass Immobilizer possible on S2

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge of disable/bypass the immoblelizer system on a S2?

Nope, can't be done realistically, it is pretty well integrated into the vehicle systems. Why would you want too anyway?

needs to be reset with a code that only Mazda can supply through the Tech's consult

For a remote start?

I'm in the middle of doing one right now. I went with the cheaper bypass unit where you hide a key inside. But instead of hiding a key, I took key apart, pried out the little chip, programmed that little chip, and installed only the little chip into the bypass unit. I have verified it works.

I guess you guys are talking about using an aftermarket solution, I thought he meant just disabling the factory stuff.

Not for aftermarket remote starter. My intention is that I acquire an ECU from Japan. Problem is the immobilizer system is on. Mazda dealer couldn't communicate with the ECU to retrieve the code. So looking for alternate way

Ah. No, you are screwed I think.

Is there a reason you need to keep the Japan PCM data on it?

If not, your local dealer should be able to blank it, reprogram as new unit from the factory using as built data to you VIN number and it should work as a replacement PCM?

We are kind of in the dark as to what you trying to do with this PCM.

MC8jai 05-15-2013 05:28 PM

Yes I m trying to use the data on the other PCM. I guess what I am trying to do is to read the ECU, so I can retrieve the code for the immobilizer .

What Japan ECU are you trying to install one for/from a Mazda S2 Japan 8 installed by Mazda?..
A Series 1 will never work in S2, totally different wiring loom plugs to ECU, + different Cal.

IF this is what you are trying to do, then I would bet the Dealer you used did not reconfigure his MMDS/IDS region to 'Japan', if it is installed for US use then it will ONLY use calibration code for North American cars.

Did he try to do a Forced Calibration?

Out-code and In-codes should still be able to be generated so PATS system will work.
Immo is totally separate to ECU, but communicates with ECU.
