Trust me... they will.:suspect:

pcs 01-25-2010 12:22 PM

you know what, in all reality, that's ok.

I'm happy w/ my car's performance- and I'd rather them take the time to do it as best they can. As long as it's moving along, I'm good.

TeamRX8 01-31-2010 07:49 PM

No u cannot haz ...

kersh4w 02-03-2010 12:47 PM

i bet if teamrx8 had an s2, we'd see an s2 accessport.

Razz1 02-03-2010 01:01 PM

At 150 car sales per month...

Your gonna have to wait along time.

There is no ROI (return on investment).

MazdaManiac 02-03-2010 04:26 PM

Yep. The Cobb AccessPORT for the 2009+ is terminated.
Sorry.

LOL. If MM can't make it happen with his sales record no way would I have any better luck. I offered to buy one and submit it to them for the beta back in 2008 and they didn't take the offer. I suspect the AP sales for the S1 didn't meet their expectations. Given the low S2 vehicle sales then MMs last reply is no surprise.

Glad I didn't make the mistake of buying one myself now :hahano:

.

RX8pwnage 02-04-2010 10:28 AM

what a crock of BS that is, wow. The ROI for a product like this should not even be a factor. The exact same materials that were used for S1 AP should be used for S2 (no cost for new materials). Besides coding ONE TIME what other investment do they need to do for a S2? Raise the price if thats an issue, people will still buy it if it was $1000.

laythor 02-04-2010 11:02 AM

I'm sure Cobb did their homework before deciding to pull the plug on the S2 AP. The ecomony isn't great for small companies to spend money on RandD for something they could hope to break even with at best.

MazdaManiac 02-04-2010 11:19 AM

The S2 has a completely different PCM.
The investment to bring an S2 model to market would be similar, if not exactly, the same as it was on the S1, which I'm sure was tens of thousands of dollars if not more (not including the v2.0 hardware at all).
They would have to sell several hundred units just to break even and considering that they have only sold 500 or less for the S1 version and the S2 model RX-8 comprises a fraction of a percent of the S1's market size, it just isn't a wise investment, even for a company that is awash in cash.

Probably. Almost definitely.
But be prepared to spend a lot of time and a lot of money.

If the AP doesn't magically appear for the 2008+ this year, I'll start looking for alternatives for you guys.

-RX8- 02-07-2010 02:22 AM

Cool. Good looking out!
