installing racing beat intake

planning on getting the racing beat intake and ram air duct for 09. I've never done much modding to a car and wonder how hard is it to take the nose off the car. Not interested in performance aspect responses just want advice on istalling this particular intake thanks.

Theirs a DIY video in the series 1 forum, it's gonna be pretty much the same. Doesn't look too hard but I've never done it.

It's easy and the RB comes with clear directions!
Don't sweat it.
Once you've done it, you can pull the bumper in 5 minutes!

I don't understand why you couldn't tell ..... the website has instructions on how to remove the bumper.
If you are unable to asses the difficulty in doing this job on your own, by reading the instructions then maybe this is a task to challenging for you.

thanks. next question, if state law requires a front liscense plate does its position block the air? Do I need to move my plate?

wcs 12-26-2010 10:19 AM

We have the same law here in Ontario.
Yes unfortunately it will block some of the Ram Air intake .... if I was to guess .... ummmmm
An Ontario plate likely covers at least 50%+ of the available intake area.

You don't "have to" relocate the plate, I haven't bother relocating my plate ...
Or you could take a chance and drive without a front plate?

The law here is if your car maker sells a front plate mount then you must use a front plate. I have been driving around with no front plate since I bought the car almost a year ago and never had any issues at all.

I'm sure its a fixit ticket anyway in the unlikely event you did get pulled over.

I was gonna point that out, but decided I would give'em a break. Glad to see you did though! :wavey:
