I see you are going more for the 19's so my advice or information may not help you?

 

18 vs 19 it doesn't make much difference as long as the diameter of the tire is accounted for, ie shorter sidewall on the 19

 

ok so I should try for 19x9.5 with a lower offset of say +25 to +20 since I will have my coilovers already and can lower it accordingly, I'll get my fenders rolled as much as I can before hand to save myself the grief..

And shave the fender tabs off and trim up where the clear corners attach and beat down the metal ridge behind the fender liners in front and remove those fender liners

I just bought a set of work emotion 11r in 18x8.5 +38 front and 18x9.5 +38 rear, I'm trying to figure out what tire sizes I need to go with, I original thought 245 40 r18 front and 255 40 r18 for the rear. I am lowering the car about 1.5 inches with powertrix coil overs and don't want to mess with fender rolling because one of my fenders has had bondo work from the previous owner.

Varrstoen es331 18x9.5 +22 front 18x10.5 +22 rear. Lowered on stance gr+ Coilovers .. Fenders are all rolled and slightly pulled. What size tire would I need to stretch on ? 215 or 225? Also debating on doing +12 front + 15 rear offsets.. Any suggestions?

Hello, I am new here and looking to replace the rims on my RX8. I was wondering if these would fit and what size spacers I would need to make it look flush in the rear?

Tire: 245/40R18
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3
Offset: 45 ( I believe this is the offset, I couldn't find this information anywhere aside from amazon...)

I already have 265/40/18 on my car as I got a retarded good deal on a set of PS2's, so I'm trying to figure how much I can lower my car effectively WITH this setup. Obviously 265/35/18 would give me more options, but I want to know how much I can drop with THIS setup. Do you guys think an inch would work, or is OEM suspension too soft that I'd smash the fenders during aggressive driving?

What suspension and height will you be using?

I would suggest to buy wheels of the correct offset so spacers are not needed. For example:

18x9 +32:
TSW Nurburgring custom rims

These will work with 245/40R18 tires. Flush depends on your ride height (what suspension are you running?).

So after some conversations with my tire shop it appears that the wheels I want (18 x 9.75 +35 XXR 527 or 530) DON'T EXIST! They only come in +20. So for the sake of getting some new wheels ASAP I went ahead and ordered the 530's in 18 x 8.75 +20 with a set of 235/40 rubbers to be installed on Saturday.

J mentioned that this will fit much like the 9.75 +35 but there may be some fitting issues with 245 rubber. Will 235 work better or should I rethink this setup? Keep in mind I will be installing Tanabe GF springs before hand (decided against the S-Techs). Thanks in advance for your input!

 

I have the wide 530s with 245/40 Hankooks on S-Techs. On the 8.75s there won't even be the minimal stretch like on the wider ones. I'm not totally sure how that would fit but it might be okay. Check prices for XXRs against Next Level Motoring before you buy.

 

Yeah thats why I went with the 235 to get some stretch out of the tires, and hopefully more clearance. If I'm not mistaken you are running +20? ...But J said the +20 8.75s will fit like +35 9.75s... Is that correct?

I compared the price between my shop and NL and my place can get them for $60 cheeper for the set.

Well thanks for reply what's wrong with the set up? I'm just trying to gain more stance.. My car is really low and all my wheels have a lot of camber. Right now I have on 9.5 + 25 all around with 225 45s and I don't rub at all and have plenty of room to go wider. I'm going through tires every 2 months with the camber and I'd rather have a better stance to make it worth it ha

 

Because you are going about things all wrong. 215s on an 8 is ridiculous. If you are going to stay narrow and silly go with a 225/40 or 235/40. If you are into crazy stance stuff then you should be able to figure something like that out. You should know a 225/45 is really tall and even a 245/40 is shorter height wise and would be closer to fitting correctly.

 

Has anyone else realized how much room we have under the front fenders? I could easily get a 12.5" wheel in there with the correct offset and tire.

 

any on have any suggestions, wheels are on the way and I need to get tires as soon as possible.

you will be borderline in the rear depending on height. the lower you go, the better they will fit
