allright J here it comes:

- its about 35 to 40mm lowered
- no fender mods. possibly i'd like to keep them stock cause you can't modify the width of your car here in pizza state..

- 17" by 10 offset +30
- 245/45 tires
- standard hub size
- 5x114.3

its like -1.8/1.6 of camber...no problem to open a little bit more (;

cheers

That could work without widening the fenders but you will need to roll the fenderlip and trim a lot of the bumper tab off probably. Wheel probably outside the fender a little.

If you have the money, don't waste your time with springs and just get coilovers. Cheap Megan Racing coilovers are about $850 shipped, and good quality and highly used on the boards are the Stance GR+ coils, which are about $1300 (I dont know shipping to Iceland). Both will let you drop 3+ inches, more than enough to eliminate wheel gap.

So give me some 19" wheel choices and I'll help you out with sizing.
i would say the 20's i picked fit just fine :p hehe

20x9.5" in rear with 255.30.20 tires stretch

Go turn your steering wheel all the way one direction and take a picture of the back fender liner behind the front wheels. I'm curious how much clearance you have between tire and the plastic.

I can either go 18 x 10 + 38 or 18 x 10 + 18 ... Going to be lowered enough so I don't have a wheel gap.

I'm running stock suspension and I'd like to go with a 245/40/18 tire front and back. What size rim/offset should I get so I don't have to mess with the fenders, and the tires won't look too wide for the rim?

10+38 is the one for square tires. 275/35 rolled fenders and trim the bumper tabs.

Isays don't make expensive decisions based on cheap stuff (tires you have).

It wouldn't work with a 275 easily. Check the I need more camber thread for an example

Tire size isnt a huge deal to me. I dont mind running a bit stretched. I just dont want the rim to stick out beyond the fender you know. Ill check it out thanks !!

i don't have anything yet, i'm buying new tires and new rims.
that is just the tire size i want, and I'm trying to figure out what rims width i'll need to fit them properly and what offset I'll need to prevent any problems. Is there any reason that that tire size is a bad choice?

so let me ask the question again for people who missed it above:

I want to buy some 245/40/18 tires (front and back). I've got stock suspension and I don't want to do any work on the fenders. What width rims should I get so that the tires look nice, and what offset should they be?

Usually someone finds a wheel they like first and then the fitment is determined.

Also look nice is very vague. 8.5 +35 is probably close

Bigger tires don't necessarily translate into being more square. For example, my previous Falken Azenis rt-615 in 275/35/18 were less square than my current Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08's in 265/35/18. It all depends on the manufacturer.

awesome, thanks.
I know "looks nice" is vague, but I don't have a large enough car vocabulary to really describe what I was going for :p
I was thinking 8.5s, but I was worried the tires would look too "bulge-y". I couldn't find good pics of 245/40s on 8.5s to see how they'd look.
But I thought that if I move up to 9s on the front, there might be problems with rubbing when I'm at full steering lock.

But I guess it is really the width of the tires, not the rims that would determine if it would rub or not, wouldn't it? Is 245 a safe width for front with stock suspension and setup?

Ill update this first post with links to basic explanations on how wheels sizes and offsets work. That alone should answer 90% of the questions, but it wont because its easier to post it rather than doing the research first.

Nonetheless... please just post up

Wheel Diameter (F/R)
Wheel Width (F/R)
Wheel Offset (F/R)
Suspensions Changes (i.e. - how low are you dropped. If you have coilovers... you dont need to post this as you can just adjust it after you get your wheels on.

So For Example:
F: 19X10 +28
R: 19X9 +30

Also if you like, if you have a set of tires in mind.. post up the specs to that as well
(W/P/D)

EX:
F: 235/35/19
R: 265/30/19

Many times its possible to make an aggressive wheel fit, by using an equally aggressive tire combination. Obviously this is very dangerous, more likely to lead to your tire exploding, and less protection from potholes and curb damage... but it looks so jDm!!!!

And on this note, please stop PMing me your wheel/tire questions. Just post it here, and those who know... can chime in with the info you are looking for.

Thanks

Okayy, I'm not exactly sure what information I have on the wheels I wanna out on my 2004 rx8 but I have the link for the wheels I wanna buy so please check it it and lemme know asap. I'm trying to buy them tomorrow
