what if i went with 255/35/19 tires? not much of a difference?

Front: 19x8 offset 40 (245/35/19)
Rear: 19x9.5 offset 40 (265/30/19)

Lowered on Tein H Tech (Drop: front 1", rear 0.3 )

Will this fit without any rolling or cutting?

I have an '05 shinka nordic green and have been looking for some gunmetal rims,

long story short, i've settled on Advan RS, and found this site:

that have them on sale, the price is better than anything local iv'e seen even with the 100 GBR to ship.

I believe my stock wheels are 18x8 with a +50 offset with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern (correct me if i'm wrong) with (225/45/18 potenza's)

So my will it fit question:

5x114.3 18x8.0 ET+45 (will it fit)

and if i wanted to go bigger say to 19" what would recommendations be? I don't want to change the over all size of the rim+tire, as i don't want to have to roll my fenders or change my ride height/suspension.

I've linked the site as you can go in and choose the different sizes, and they have 20% off on advan right now for those interested.

Can i go to a 19x9.0 or a 19x10.0 without having to roll my fenders or make major modifcations and what offset should i get with whichever will fit.

I'm also planning on Toyo R1-R's or T1-R's for these, not sure about sizing to fit if i want to keep the overall again the same as stock, help is needed. The car is not lowered and there are no plans to do so, it's running at stock height.

Yes you will fit fine with no rubbing. Buy your car will have mad understeer with such a staggered setup like that...

In all that time it took you to write this up, you could have looked through 2 pages on this thread and you would have found out that if an 18x9.5 +45 will fit...then obviously a 18x8 +45 will fit... Yes you can go to a 19x9 or 19x10...But it depends on what the offset is and how big the tire you want to run is...

No need to ask another question, just read some pages of this thread...

 

I was worried you were going to pay tons of money for a stock size wheel at first lol. 18x9 +35 with 245/40/18 or 19x9+38 with 245/35/19. I know the +29 looks good on both of those and could work without a fender roll but you aren't lowering it so............. That's my opinion. Also check Autornd in the vendor section at the top of the forum. I bet he has better prices/service.

I'm looking to pick up some new rims and tires and have the following decision:

Wheel is a 19" x 8.5" with a 45mm offset.

Suspension is bone stock.

Tire choices are 245/35/19 or 255/35/19. My questions are:

1) With that offset, would there be any risk of rubbing with the 255 tire? I think I'd prefer the 255 as it most closely matches the outer diameter of the stock wheel/tire combo.

2) With that rim width and offset, how much further out than stock will the face of the wheel move (approximately). Is it just the extra rim width plus the offset difference? So about 10mm?

3) Is a 255 on an 8.5" rim an appropriate fit? I'm sure it will get on the rim okay, but is that getting near the max and will the tire be at all distorted to fit on that rim width?

Any other feedback on choosing either size over the other would be appreciated. I presume turning will be a little harder with the 255, and that the mileage will suffer a bit (due to added friction), but it just seeemed a better fit, diameter-wise, than the 245.

3. Either tire choice is fine and the 255 really isn't that much different from a 245 height wise (Go with whichever is cheaper or has the tire you want imo). I have 245s on a 9.5 and that's still within manufacturer's recommendations.
4. I doubt you will notice much difference with turning difficulty or mileage really. It's definitely work it for the improved looks and handling imo.

 

Ok I gotta ask is there such a thing as standard offset? I'm looking at the Axis Halos in white but no where does it mention an offset. Anyways I'm thinking about going with the 18x8.5 with a 245/45 with Mazdaspeed springs. Do I have anything to worry about?

 

245/45 is a super tall tire. 245/40 is the correct size. No there is not a "standard" offset. You should probably get that ironed out. As long as it is +30 or higher you should be fine. +25 to 29 is possible rear fender roll.

 

Alright after a little Google research look like +45 is the offset and the reason I am going 245/45s is because thats whats on the car right now they were on there when I bought it. brand and series are BF Goodrich T/As

 

You do not want 245/45, your speedometer has been off the whole time running this tire size

 

Well that sucks looks like i'll need to get tires as well then too. Should I stay with the BF Goodrich? It seems to be a decent tire.

 

well if you are going to reuse the tires it's not the end of the world just know that your speedo is reading about 3% slower than you are actually going

just get 245/40 for your next set if that is the width you want

So im thinking of going the staggered rout. i just bout the tein-s springs, so im wondering if these will fit without a fender roll/rubbing issues. thanks!

What is HPO/MED as offset? I'm guessing you had a website do all the work in picking tire/wheel sizes. Not the best choice but whatever.

 

well i have the same size tires and rims ( identicle specs) on my wifes rex, hers just rides stock height. jus wondern if ittl clear fine with the drop.

 

Honestly.

No need to go staggered if these are daily driving wheels. You'll save money by simply having the ability to rotate your tires.

If you really want to go staggered then the offset will be VITAL. I've probably said this a hundred times in this thread alone - offset = life, yes it's that important. Get the correct offset and we'll be able to tell you for sure if they'll be fine.

reason being is that the bolt size pattern seems to also include a bmw's lug pattern which also might mean they come in euro fitments MEANING they stand a good chance of having an incorrect offset for your wheel.

Here's a quick guideline for your fitments tho

18x8F (if the offset is above +30 you'll be fine)
18x9F (if the offset is above +35 you'll be fine)



ROLL YOUR FENDERS - it's not that hard and it's just for safety. The fender might grab at full load during turns. I'd rather blow $100 on precaution than $500 or so on repairs...food for thought

 

^ Concur. I believe the rolling jig can be very reasonably rented at Autozone. Judiciously use a heat gun and proceed slowly so as not to crack the paint as you roll the fender lip.

since i forgot to add the offset last time(btw the offset was 38), here it is on this set. Thnx for the advice on fender rollin!!

 

^ stock suspension height you'll be fine but dependent on amount of drop you may have to roll the rear fender (a relatively small drop and you still won't have to roll).

I'm not a fan of staggered from a performance and longevity perspective, but if aesthetics is more your thing then it's fine.

edit: I meant to add that I currently have Enkei RP03 18x9.5 +38 with 265x35 all around and am at stock height. The rear is perfectly flush with the fender but if I were more a fan of aesthetics an 18x8.5 with a 235x40 in front would be more flush (my front sticks out a bit). So, there ya go - all design is compromise.
