1. Is the car an rx8? If no, go somewhere else.
2. Is the car not stock height? If no, then explain.
3. Have the fenders been modified in any way? If no, are you willing to modify the fenders?
4. Please state wheel width, offset, and diameter.
5. Please state the proposed tire width and profile.
6. Is the hub size 67.1mm or larger?
7. Is the bolt pattern 5x114.3 aka 5x4.5"?

From now on, you must try to answer all those questions.

So i am looking at getting some new wheels and tires this summer. I just cant make up my mind on 18s or 17s. I like the tire prices for 17s, that is why i want them, but cant seem to find a good setup with them that will fit how i want them. I am on Tanabe NF210 springs stock struts. so about a 1" drop.

The setup i am prob going to run with 18s is:

18x9.5 +38/+28 245/40

but was curious if i could get a 18x9.5 +35 all around to fit without pulling, rolling at all?

The 17" setup i would like similar to the 18s but maybe with a wider tire 265.

Let me know

Trevor

18x9.5 +35 all around with 245/40 would not require anything. +38 all around would be the same obviously. +28 will require rolled fender and trim the bumper tab in the rear. With a wider tire you would need to roll/trim the bumper tab on all of them.

This is 9.5 +38 with 245/40 and about a 1" drop all around. http://www.flickr.com/photos/j863562...th/3148525778/

Thanks that helps alot. If i run 18s then it will be the +35

What would you say a good 17" wheel/tire combination would be?

It's a rx8 lowered on espelir springs ( to be honest I don't remember how much it lowers)
The fender is not rolled or modified in any ways

specs:

18x8.0
+45 offset
5x114.3 bolt pattern

Tires:
Cooper Zeon ZPT 245/40/18

Any good?

Tanabe NF210 - about 1in drop all around
Will be running about -1.5/-2 camber

Diameter: 18
Width: 9.5
Offset: +38
Tire size: 265/35
Question: any rolling/pulling needed due to tire size?

245/45 is closer to stock size. It will require fender roll and trim the bumper tab in the back.

Assuming an s-tech drop :18x9 +30 with 245/40 is pretty close to what you want without rolling the fenders. 18x9 +25 245/40 will fit with rolled fenders.

Lower than s-tech (coilovers) 18x9 +20 245/40 is pretty easy with rolled fenders and shave the rear tab a bit.

Then use an online calculator that takes into account tire width/height and wheel offset/width to see how it compares to those ones I told you.

That's pretty generic and I havent' run the numbers, but should work most of the time.

I've asked this question like twice in here already but I want more opinions. I also want to clarify on whether or not I will have to shave the bumper tabs for both of these setups:

18x9 + 21
or
18x9 + 16

on 245/40's

I'll be riding on Megan Racing coilovers (Most likely) and I plan on going pretty low. I want an aggressive offset, which both of these are, but I don't want too much to the point where it's going to require tons of work just to get the wheels to fit (this is how I'm imagining the +16 offset). The +21 seems like the way to go but I'm just afraid of it not looking aggressive enough.

I was told that if I went with the +21 and went low enough, my car would sit very similar to the way Sifu's does. What are your guys' thoughts; should I go with the +16 or the +21?

Since you want more opinions and I answered the last 2 times, I'll just say you will need to shave the bumper tab on both of those FOR SURE. +21 Look at the last picture Ross Dawg posted in the aggressive wheel fitment thread. He is 9 +25 with 245s (needs to shave the bumper tab more in fact lol).

Ill make it easy on him, here's 19x9 +25 with 245/35/19. I had to roll rears but not fronts and shave the hell out of that tab which I still rub on a hard dip (though a bit more camber would get rid of that problem).

That looks extremely clean. What lip is that?

Quoting because you *nearly* answered my fitment question.

I "know" these will fit because tilt has had some nuttier fitments (18x10.5" +15), but..
18x10 +25 on a 225/45/18 Kumho

I've got H&R springs - I don't know how much they drop because I've never had stock suspension, but my fronts have a good deal of camber and tuckage. Rear tire is a tiny bit under the arch. Basically, I'm trying to mash some fat wheels under the car without having to buy coilovers... I wouldn't drop my front any more than it sits, I'm more worried about the rear looking too high, but some side skirts and rear finishers should help the look. I also intend to keep my corners lamps, but am willing to roll fenders and add camberz

What I want to know is if other mods will need to be done, and if I will be able to fit some 245 or 255 in the future (225 are temporary because I have them already).

Here is how I feel...that is too aggressive for a spring only setup. 225/45 is too tall. Look up imput1234. He had 17x10+25 with 245/45 (same as what you are asking but with 245/40).
