What are the best tyres for RX8?

I have Toyo T1Rs and they are very slippy in the wet. What have you found to be the best tyres for wet AND dry grip?

For fast road use and drifting =P My main concern is grip.. Not bothered about wear time or price..

This is pretty subjective, as everyone finds their preferences. However, this thread might be a good place to start: https://www.rx8club.com/wheels-tires...-tires-199820/

I would personally recommend the Yokohama S.Drives for daily driving where wet grip and anti-hydroplaning is a concern. It's a summer tire and still has decent dry grip, but I've never felt a road tire more stable in wet conditions. I have gone through 3 sets between 2 cars, and about to buy a 4th set.

They aren't stellar for autocross or track use, as they get slippery easy when heating up. But then, if you get more focused on the dry grip side of things, you are going to keep giving up wet grip. For that, I'd recommend other tires.

And keep in mind that most people think "wet road" when they say wet. Like the Star Specs still have decent grip on damp and wet roads without any accumulation of water, but ask them to fight hydroplaning and they will raise the white flag and give up.

I would not recommend S.Drives for drifting..... Probably ought to see what are common tires used by other competitors in the competition series you drift in.

I installed a set of Vredestine Ultrac Sessanta 18 months ago and I love them. They are about $70 dollars less a tire than the Michelin Super Sport 2 that are out now. They are wearing well and handle fantastic. Now I know you are saying to yourself "your in California and it doesn't rain" but last winter I was driving in extreme downpours and they worked great.

Search tire dry wet and see what you come up with.

Edit. While I was typing RIWWP posted the tire link.

I have the vredestine's as well in a 245/40r18. The tread wear is great. I've got about 20000km on them and they show barely any wear. In the wet these tires are awesome. I got caught in a massive thunderstorm on Monday and I had no problems where most other drivers in the road either pulled over or were driving slowly with their hazard lights on.
They are pretty good in the dry but don't compare to a tire like the Kumho XS or Hankook RS3.
