my car is black and dont want anything plian like a regular 5 spoke.. that is to plain to me. i dont much think that i want to go below an 18.. and you say no chrome? what you think then polished alum? but then again thats pretty cheap looking in some cases and i dont not want nothing cheap or with alot of weight.. Willing to spend the money to get something good now insted of buying something cheap and it not work good you know?

Alex, check out the Momo V-10s (Page 3 I think) in the thread lepi linked too. I personally think they would look incredible on a black 8, and they make a black version too.

In fact, because I am a nice guy (and it's a slow day in the office), here's a pic. Though to be fair, the picture of just the wheel doesn't do justice to how great they look on the 8.

Atilla 05-01-2009 01:28 PM

Since you didn't mention a price limit - here's some suggestions...

I love each of these wheels...

AME TRACERS

ADVAN MODEL T5's

That's just off the top of my head :)

Atilla 05-01-2009 01:29 PM

btw - if you get any of those wheels in anything below 18x8 +45 - i will hate you forever and ever :icon_no2:

Alexandriasrx8 05-01-2009 01:43 PM

yeah i dont want to have rims that look to little.. that would be so stupid looking lol and thanks for the suggestions i deff need some

RawrX8 05-01-2009 02:14 PM

How about some RPF1. Cant go wrong with em. Best bang for your buck. Kind of bad picture of the wheels. Im sure topgear will chime in and whore you some pictures too.

what is?

YeahYeahYouWere 05-01-2009 02:40 PM

I think they mean that Porsche with the solid Porsche logo chromes wheels is ugly (which it is).

Going to shops is a good call - odds are you'll have them doing the install (?), and they can probably give you the best information. Heck, maybe you can get them to price match or something like that, and then get a better deal on installation. I don't know what the cost is - it doesn't seem like it should be too hard to slap 4 wheels on, but if you have the TPS system and stuff, it could be surprisingly expensive.

Alexandriasrx8 05-01-2009 02:43 PM

okay well did you see the rim makers i listed.. do u think those are pretty good quality?

Atilla 05-01-2009 02:55 PM

^to be frank - i wouldn't get any of them. Maybe Konig...but that's about it...

All are either too heavy or have terrible specs (i.e. width, diameter and offset)

Go with respectable

Enkei, Advan, Volk, AME, Work etc.

You still haven't mentioned your budget....that would help narrow down some selections :)

Alexandriasrx8 05-01-2009 02:57 PM

well i mean i dont want to spend tonsss and i dont want nothing to cheap ya kno? lol if that helps you any but i do want good quality and nothing to heavy of course u know that but still lol

Atilla 05-01-2009 03:04 PM

Enkei RPF1 = Approx $1,300

May not be the most appealing to most, but the specs' are excellent. Good size, good width, very strong and very light at an excellent price. You're not going to get more bang for the buck that this IMO.

If you're aiming below that in price you're going to narrow down your possible options greatly. You can still get good spec's on wheels however they will be heavier. This is why i asked you for a budget.

You can get a set of Sportmax's or Rota's that look like very popular brands and look decent for about $1000 if not less - you may be sacrificing weight and some quality - but as some have argued on here, it's not enough to make a stink about it ya know?

Throw a number out (budget) so i can help you better :D:

CTrx8 05-01-2009 03:09 PM

5zigen (i'm slightly biased) is also a good bang for your buck wheel maker

Thats about right for the 18x9.5 +45, even though that was the price for mine with center caps/lugs/shipped.

If you want a set of RPF1 check out Fluid or AutoRnD. Discount tires said they will be ANYONE on enkei wheels. Long as you can give them a creditable source. Not to knock on any vendors.

If you do magically decide to go with RPF1s do yourself a favor and go with 265/35/18s instead of the 275. With me if I run with more than 1 person and tag a nice bump ill scuff my fender. This way you can still get the wide sexy look and dont have to worry ONE BIT about your fenders. Ill post a picture of my recent anal pucker when I get home.

Alexandriasrx8 05-04-2009 01:01 PM

okay well im ordering my rims today!! ya :) so do you guys think i should get a five spoke rim or smt more? cause alot of ppl are saying to go with just a five spoke and im not real sure if thats what i want.. i figured you guys would know what looks good saying that yall drive the type of car i do lol:ylsuper:haha

YeahYeahYouWere 05-04-2009 01:04 PM

I personally prefer 5 spokes, but that's just me. It all depends on the individual wheels too.

Where are you ordering from (if you don't mind me asking)? I ordered some Momo V-10s from Discount Tire Direct this weekend and they've already told me they're ready to ship!
