no need to replace just take it to the dealer. Rusty no more!

Yo can I take my car even tho it has 14,000 miles on it? Will they still warranty it? That was a good question I had and was meaning to ask you J.

yea the only thing is it depends on the dealer. I went to burlingame mazda, they didn't even question me once in fact they told me if it comes back they will replace the whole rotor. I took it there with the about the same mileage too so no problems.

Is this a TSB or something? Why would they replace the rotors just because they are rusty?

Nemesis8 02-22-2006 08:21 AM

The dealer only sands and paints the hubs. The rust comes back time and time again. There is NO TSB for the rusty rotor problem.

1. Commercial advertisements do not belong in this forum--Moderator??

2. Your warranty is for 4 years, 50,000 miles, period.

3. The dealers vary widely in how willing they are to do this service. Mine was very accommodating, at 32,000 miles. That was nearly a year and 25,000 miles ago, and they still look pretty good.

4. This is spelled out in a Mazda Repair Info, not a TSB (similar, but not as widely disseminated). Search the "Wheels" forum for "rusted rotors" and you will find the MRI.

It's been a while the rust hasn't come back yet if it does i'm sure a little naval jelly would do the trick.

I gotta say I'm pretty happy with mine. They seem to have held up well since the dealer painted them.

I paid $90 to have mine done (dealer wouldn't warranty) and it's back after 2 months.
