tein s-tech installed pixs

well team
got my springs installed friday night.
and just in time i couldnt wait anymore.unfortunately
i was never taken care of by optonimports from ebay.
they refunded my money and i had to rush order them up from revhighonline.com.
got excellent help over there and exactly what they promised.
so i will pickup my greddy exhaust from them soon.
now the install took about 2hrs with tools
went to sears today to get a compressor, impact gun for future projects.;)

make sure you cut down on the bump stop about 3-4 inch
im sorry i dont have pixs as process of install.
only thing that took a bit of time was getting that rear shock out of trunk.(of course after removing bolts) just have to turn counter-clockwise and up and then down.
after install and letting some corona's go down
we packed up the 8 and took it for a spin.
some of my friends said right away it looked the same.
told them they have to settle.( i must admit i have dropped other cars and immediately you see a difference) oh well

on to the ride
the car i must say feels better
if i can say one thing and one thing only about the springs is
RESPONSIVE.
i mean the car turns like never before.and car feels the same meaning bumps and such now remember all im on 20x19 f and 20x10 r with no pro tires and ride is great i couldnt be happier.
i only have about 200-250 miles on her now but will post some more pixs in a day or so.
thankyou all for reading and looking
:D
p.s check back for more pixs on settling

im so happy i did im very satisfied.
i think when going with tein there is no right or wrong.

djmano 05-05-2004 12:32 PM

if you have extra time can you post pics of the wheel well gaps front/back? im sure everybody would like to see as well. i anxious to see how it compares to the espelir drop as i am debating between the two springs currently.

nice pics

looks perfect

success07 05-06-2004 03:06 PM

Aces, Kel Rx8, Aces!!!! Though the brake calipers should be repainted black as to not take anything away from the wheels. The red look nice for a short time but as you can tell from your pic, tend to look extremely dirty shortly thereafter. JMO. :)

djmano 05-07-2004 12:28 PM

thanks for the pics kel. your ride is one of the cleanest on the board w/o a kit.

sigh......what i would do for a set of 20 inch chrome maido's.....haha proally eat some klondike bars.

lol are you saying i have ace wheels ?
not that i have anything against them
but im sure aces dont come staggered and dont have the quality
as my MAIDO wheels;) :D

success07 05-07-2004 03:29 PM

Who needs quality, anyway? As long as we can 'roll' in super-slow motion like they do in the music videos then we're set!! :D

I actually haven't heard of Ace Wheels, shhh. :(

Kel Rx8 05-07-2004 03:52 PM

HK.RX888 05-08-2004 12:51 AM

IZoomZoomI 05-08-2004 01:58 AM

man that sucks... my prayers to your car and your girlfriend.

MeZoomZoom 05-08-2004 05:57 PM

Sorry to here about the rim scub. I just bought the same springs and can't wait to install them. 2 questions for you 1. did you have your tires aligned. 2. the instructions read cut .8" ft. and 1.0" rear.
Your car looks GREAt.

Thanks
Curtis

Kel Rx8 05-08-2004 06:33 PM

thanks curtis no i havent aligned the wheels yet
i felt it pull to the right abit
but now with this rim scuff im gonna take them off and
get a aligment.

cut about 3 inches on the bump stop get a blade with a handle
its easy just becareful
im scared of blades after cutting my finger one night while doing a radiator.

the s is a more aggressive look, more feel of a drop
than the h tech which is about stock ride quality with a comfortable feel.i can notice the difference in look between the htech and stock springs.
so i deciced the stech is a better way to go
some people ask me when im gonna drop the car so in there
eyes the car didnt go any lower or a crazy drop.
but yes the s-tech is the bigger drop.

smrx8 05-12-2004 03:47 PM

thanks ,iam going to go for them s-tech

Kel Rx8 05-12-2004 03:53 PM

sounds good
go to revhighonline.com
they will send them out right away
and they have the cheapest prices.

XcelR8 05-12-2004 06:18 PM

I have the s-tech too, they are great. Ride quality is good, handling is great...hope you are experiencing the same.
