Tein S Tech

I need to see pics of tein s-tech before and after. Does it level the car out by dropping the front more? I already searched. I am ordring enkei RPO3 in 18" with 235/40-18 tires and want to decrease fender gap and drop the front more. Thanks for your help guys

R888 07-22-2007 05:54 PM

It won't drop as much as you think..you still have 2 fingers gap in front and 1 at rear.

If you like no gap b/w fenders, go for coilover. For tires go for 245/40/18 simply it drives you a better day!

Just right for me! My front spoiler & underside of the floorpan just scrapes in certain places around town and driveways.

NgoRX8 07-23-2007 03:16 AM

the front does drop more. but since the rear stock is already lower sometimes you will notice that they're even, or that the rear is still a lil bit lower.

^Amen.

The drop is just right for me. I wanted something that wasn't going to scrape every time I pulled into or out of a driveway. I didn't want to bottom out on the freeway when going over a bridge.
Asthetically (sp?) it could be a little lower, but I'm not complaining. The price was right, and I believe it has the highest spring rate for the RX8 lowering springs.
They'll fit me just right.....until I buy my coilovers. :ylsuper:

pictures anyone? im also thinking of s techs. i assume it lowers more than mazdaspeed springs yes?

tony_673 07-24-2007 05:52 AM

I'll see what I can come up with.

ViR2 07-24-2007 07:27 AM

I agree with that that. Tein S and 245/40's is perfect. Been with mine for long enough to say that firmly.

Lovin' the S-Techs on my car. There's a zillion pictures of my car on this forum so you can check out the 'before'

I haven't posted pics since I put the S-techs on so I'll try and do that tonight.

mikeferz42 07-26-2007 03:12 AM

thanks for posting pics. mad dash, car looks good. where the hell is your fuel filler door?! lol.

+1
I love the feel of them. I'm running 255/40/18 in the rear and 225/45/18 in the front.

my hp evo's are by 8's f by 9's r.

I will take a pic for you tomorrow.

velociti 07-26-2007 09:56 PM

also +1. the drop is somewhat subtle, but as i was posting in a thread earlier it is noticably lower than stock and makes the car look...well just right in my opinion. ive had mine a few weeks now and only just tonight hit the front lip and only because i was coming out of a wawa too quickly, which is my own fault. ill try and post pics, but in the meantime...it looks great man. do it.

whitehot...usually i hate white in white but...yours look amazing!

BTW will this drop on stock struts make them blow? or any change in the way handles?

Astral 07-31-2007 01:16 PM

Tein S-tech on stock shocks (high pressure gas monotube):

great pics!

RXcor 07-31-2007 02:43 PM

So theres no diff. in the way the car handles? better or worse? thanks alot guys

Jedi54 07-31-2007 02:51 PM

I can't speak for JUST the S-Techs as I installed them on new koni struts. They should seem slightly "stiffer".

Whitehot 07-31-2007 03:14 PM

I still have stock shocks. It's just a little stiffer with the S. Techs; not super bouncy or uncomfortable. It's good for street driving. The car takes corners flatter and responds a little quicker. (So yes, it's better.)

Mazdadude 8 02-06-2012 12:18 AM

hey question guy i wanna get some s techs and i got 18x8s right now and i was wondering will it rub or hit the fender with stock shocks? thanks for the help guys

EricB 02-07-2012 01:31 AM

Im tossed up between the

Stech(higher spring rate = win)(kills shocks)

Tanabe GF(lower spring rate = not as much killing)

But when i look at my car, and look at these pics.....my car looks lower already. I have the 40th anny so i have bilstein shocks but really?? I want to lower my car but it seems like id be raising my car with springs.

dozer 02-07-2012 03:14 AM

^lol i dont think there is an aftermarket lowering spring that will make the right height higher
