Tein EDFC questions

Hi,

A couple of questions about the EDFC

1) First, a stupid question. I see prices quoted for the "EDFC" for like 300-400 and then for the motors separately like 100 each. Does the EDFC not come with the motors and you have to buy them separately, or are those just for replacements?

2) The model number for the RX8 application was the 1212 right?

3) Does anyone have EDFC with stock front strut tower bar? It seems that most aftermarket bars will fit but I saw at least one reference to the stock one not fitting?

Thanks,
-D

1. As far as I know, the motors come with the kits. You can buy the items seperately though. The controller itself is like 200 and the motors are like 100.

2. Part number for the RX-8 is EDK05-12120

3. I can only assume that it would work with the stock bar. I would think that they would maker sure it works with the stock parts if anything and you would be on your own if you go aftermarket. I haven't ordered mine yet so I can only hope it works but there seems to be a good amount of space between the bar and where the adjustment knob is. There's probably around 2 inches from the top of the knob to the underside of the bar, so it should be fine.

Danke schön!

Anyone with stock bar and EDFC installed?

I just bought one for our car. The motors do not come with the coilovers. You need to buy 3 things, the coilovers, motors, and headunit. The number given above is for the motor kit. The head unit is universal. I will have the coilovers on near the end of March. If your still lookign for answers then I may have some. if you need anythign else about the kit send me a PM and I can take pictures or tell you all the contents.

Actually I think I'm just going to go with some lowering springs for now :)

However I don't think the info is on the forum anywhere so when you do the install it would be great if you could post here (or make a DIY? ;) )

Thanks!
