Straight up what would help improve the handling more on an all stock rx8 and not bring ride quality down significantly: front and rear sway bars, front and rear Strut bars, or getting new springs and having it lowered?

sways are ur best bet. lowering ur center of gravity with springs may help slightly too. strut bars don't do much.

yeah ive already got ultra high performance gforce tires and the only reason id get slicks wuld b for the autocross and since i only do that for fun it wuld seem like a waste

Then definitely go with a suspension mod. Sways are the best bang for the buck but if you can afford a good adjustable coilover or shock/spring setup that gives you the added benefit of the lowered look.

Don't do springs w/o shocks unless they're pretty easygoing (ie. tein h-techs). Even then you'll need to replace the shocks eventually. Better to do both at one time if you go that route.

Strut bars are the least beneficial suspension mod and the front is more significant then the rear. But the front looks good when you pop your hood.

tanabe is a reputable company and they have sways front and rear. 30.4 mm front and 20.4 mm rear. i was looking this up and read the post. i think this is what i'm going with. suggestions? here's the spec page

^ I would go with Racing Beat for the sway bars, mostly because of the reinforced end links. It seems that they've tested their products extensively enough to notice that new end links are beneficial. Could just be marketing, but I'm inclined to believe that a stronger endlink can't hurt.

Then again you could just use the RB endlinks on the tanabe sways :)

track days will help a lot ;) lol Other than that tires and a good alignment will probably make the biggest diffrence.

+1 for Racing Beat sways. I have them on my car and I love them. Definitally noticed a difference after I installed them.

Absolutely WONDERFUL setup, shit i wish i did this as opposed to coilovers.

OMG, Traction for days and uneven surfaces just wait to be conquered. We did this setup on a client's car and he ran us through the canyons at a speed i would dare not touch with my coilovers. My tires wouldn't even stay on the ground with the surface imperfections. But the Dspec/Swift setup maitained tire on ground at all times.
