Why not link forum vendors first in your post?

speeddemon32 06-02-2006 05:16 PM

thats not a bad idea... I will wrok on that.

ULLLOSE 06-02-2006 05:18 PM

The Koni is not a 5 way adjustable. It is a rebound only single adjustable.

btw dpeweb.com, forum vendor, sells them for $550 shipped. :icon_tup:

speeddemon32 06-02-2006 05:21 PM

I thought there were like 5 or 6 settings. they are not either full soft or full stiff......... right? (there is settings in between.

forum vendor added.

The koni is infinitly adjustable up to about 900 degrees, 2 1/2 turns, of adjustment no clicks or slots or spots just turn the knob.

speeddemon32 06-02-2006 05:34 PM

yeah, thats what I thought to... but i thought I read some place that it was in "half turn incraments" (5 way).... they must have been full of it.

ULLLOSE 06-02-2006 05:37 PM

Link to DPE with Koni and D spec: http://dpeweb.com/ProductsList.aspx?...oductTypeID=11

Mazdaspeed 4 point Strut Tower Brace

Re-Amemiya Strut Bar with LHD MBC support

davefzr 12-11-2007 12:49 PM

Where can you buy the 4 point MS brace from? I have been looking for it and the only one I can find is the carbon wrapped single arm brace.

JTtheDude 12-11-2007 02:33 PM

Here you can get the Mazdaspeed shocks front and rear for just over $400

davefzr 12-11-2007 04:06 PM

Again though I only see this one listed on anyones website. Did they discontinue the 4 point?

The 4 point is Japan and there RHD only. It was never made in a LHD application.

Hey guys. Forgive me for maybe asking help for something this stupid, but shocks are probably the only thing that I am not too familiar with on cars. I have an '04 Rx8 GT 6-speed. Im thinking of purchasing either the Eibach Pro springs or the H&R sport, either way I was thinking of upgrading the shocks on the car. I was told to go with Tokico, however I don't understand the different between the various adjustments, such as 4-point and rebound adjustment and compression adjustment. Can anyone help me out, again sorry for asking such stupidity but shocks are the one thing I do not know much about.

DarkBrew 05-06-2008 09:15 AM

The Tokico D-Spec shocks are available on Ebay for $480 ish for the set plus shipping.
Make sure you buy the adjuster cables for the rear shocks from Racing Beat or you can't adjust your shocks without removing them. See the adjusters in my trunk? http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/7...0764ob4.th.jpg

Renesis 27 - the damping is adjusted via a tool or adjuster cable on the top of each shock.
On the D-Spec the compression and rebound damping are set at the same time so they increase or decrease together. With the adjusters all the way tightened your shocks are full stiff. Seven and a half turns loosened off gives you full soft. Stock RX8 handling is around four turns loosened from full stiff. I'm running mine at three turns off full stiff - a bit stiffer than stock. For a track day I'd go stiffer.
Add a good alignment after the springs settle.
D-specs come with a booklet describing how to adjust your handling via alignment settings, tire pressure, swaybars etc.

hey guys, i dont know too much about springs and shocks, but i bought my car used its a "04 rx8 GT 6spd, and it had tokico's on it. I thought they were dspec but i just checked and was dissappointed. id like to upgrade my shocks and springs and i've been looking around, and i need some advice as to what to use...i autocross in the summer and i use my car as an everyday driver so some level of comfort would be nice but not necessary. I have hotchkiss racing sway bars now and the ride is stiff so it doesnt bother me much, Id like to lower my car a bit to make it look more aggressive also. the only issue is that i might have oversized tires for it. im sure you know the stock tire fitments, my car has 245/45R18 Falken FK452's. so idk how low i can lower my car and if i can get the right handling that i need. i was looking at sprint springs and i walked around my car and idk if a 2" drop would be feasable with my tires. any help would be great. thanks a lot.

renesisking 11-29-2008 01:33 PM

i am also not opposed to coilovers...unless having a mixed setup is better? idk.

This thread is linked in a sticky and it is missing the KYB Monotube gas-adjust shocks. I have have them and they are great IMO if you are looking for a good stock replacement option. Oh and they are JDM
