Stance on a budget?

So I really am getting tired of my poor '8 looking like a 4 wheeler, and want to drop it a good 1.5 - 2 inches. Not an insane drop, but still pretty slammed

But I can't afford decent coilovers right now, and I'm not looking to to buy some crap-overs in the time in between.

Does anybody have a good recommendation for the most-drop-for-your-buck springs? I can't seem to find a tread that addressees that.

Help please?

4x4 look with great handling > crap coilovers.
leave it as is until you can get some decent coilovers. springs arent the answer and even if they were, with springs that short you'll soon be needing replacement struts.

I'm hoping by the end of the 6-10 months that it takes to wreck my stock struts I'll have the funds for the real deal

Wow, usually the wannabe stance guys have the money to ruin their cars. You don't even have the money to ruin it!

The cool kids cut springs.

Tein S-techs provide a decent drop for a cheap price. Definitely not "stance" but might be a good option in the meantime.

I hear the rs*r 's will get it lower.

I know that'll kill the struts in like 4 months, but is that true?

I recently just bought Koni Shocks & Tein S-Springs and the drop looks good to me!

Front or rear? Or all around? I think I need to preload my springs, especially in the front, cause I noticed they weren't as low as I thought they would sit when I first had them installed.

Just wait a while, it will settle...

What kind and drop?

Reagan Smash 11-14-2013 04:22 PM

should be 1.75 in front and 1.4 in rear, but I'll post real-world numbers once I put them on this weekend

Reagan Smash 11-16-2013 02:03 PM

Answer: Pretty Low
I'll take measurements when they settle in.

Settled up quite a bit for just a couple of days.

Official numbers: 33 mm in the rear, and 42mm in the front.

Pics to come later
