Springs input needed!
 

I currently have racing beat sway bars on my car. I am thinking about buying aftermarket springs that can be used with the stock shocks. I am leaning towards Racing Beat.
I am on a limited budget (can't do both springs and shocks) and this will probably be the last thing I add on to the car. Looking for input from people who are running similar set ups or informative suggestions.

I currently do about 7 track events per year.
Will going to a 20% stiffer springs rate (RB estimate) do anything for track driving or am I simply wasting money by buying springs without shocks?

I have read all of the threads on this subject but have not being able to formulate any kind of opinion.

My friend has RB sway bars & RB springs. Looks good feels good. I like it. Its low & stiff.
After time, and If you pack your car a lot with this set up your shocks will go. So up grade your shocks in the near future.

I plan on buying the RB springs for now. Then going with KW Variant 3 set up.

The reason that I am leaning towards RB is that I thought this set up will not be as you put it "low and stiff" hence allowing the stock shocks to cope...

I'm getting some Eibach Springs put on this coming Saturday, 1.2 drop all around and i'm keeping the stock shocks in the meantime.

I'll post up pic's and feedback. I to am also hoping to avoid a rough ride, but the floaty handling during hard driving is getting annoying, hence this spring install until i can get proper coilovers next year.

Tein H-techs seem to work pretty good on stock shocks, i think they are only 15-25% stiffer and offer a drop of 1.0 front 0.4 rear.

Just another option to consider.

I just had the Tein H-Tech springs installed yesterday. The front has a 1.0" drop whereas the rear is 0.3". The ride is a bit firmer and tighter in corners; there's noticeably less body roll. I'm still running stock shocks.

I didn't want to go with the S-Tech because of the snow in the winter here.

Why not just read the dozen other threads on the same subject?

"Floaty" is a condition which pertains to the shocks, not the springs. If you want the car to roll less, adding spring rate or anti-roll bar rate will help. Replacing the shocks would solve it.

I've run the Eibachs on the stock shocks. Lowers the car nicely, feels better in the corners, still "floaty" at freeway speeds and above...

After doing a bit more "research" I am starting to lean towards either getting both shocks and springs (if a good deal comes along) or just keeping the stock springs in there, I guess it does not make much sense to pay for the labor of installing the springs considering the "incomplete"/half way nature of the rewards they bring. As I have no interest in their aesthetic appeal.
