I didn't ask for an argument, I have been using this tire size for 8 years with no problems I was inquiring about replacing shocks & springs that are worn out? I was asking for input on coil-overs and shocks and/or springs. I was asking about replacing tires. Do you have input about shocks springs and coil overs? Because I need to replace them and I also need more clearance in front as well my car rides to low it is very Hilly here. The front air dam hits on my driveway and when enter many streets from drives on steep inclines. I want to raise the car slightly not lower it, so you either have input or you don't. I appreciate what your saying about the tires, but there are others on here also running this tire size on these wheels, they just don't live in the Texas Hill country, I just moved back two years ago and I didn't have problems till my shock started to wear out mainly because there are lots of big dips on the highways and roads. the other have not had trouble because they must live where it is pretty flat like where I used to live. It isn't constantly hitting just when it bottoms out. I want a racing shock or coil-overs that lets me set a bottom limit on how far it can drop I half inch higher on the bottom limit will stop it.

Why the **** would you pay someone $200 bucks per shock install?

Just go with some tein basics, stance, powertrix, bc racing, megans, there all good for your purpose which is street driving, their entry level coilovers, If I had to choose stance and powertrix would be my pick, You can run your car lower and adjust the damping and that should stop the bottoming out.

I would pay someone because my wife is disabled and has a rare neurological disease and she is very ill and slowly fading and I take care of her full time, so I do not have time to do it. It also includes the re-alignment afterwards and it is $200 for the front and $200 for the back sorry I misquoted it! Why are you so adversarial? Help is one thing and I appreciate that, but I have enough going on that I have to deal with that I don't need someone to give me a bunch of BS and a hard time that I just I don't need right now.

I already gave you the info on coilovers are gonna be priced 800-1200 bucks plus install fee which is 400 bucks in your case. If you want grab the Megan's their cheap and I have had them for a couple of years. Never had any issue,

"Wrong" tire/rim size. You essentially made the car heavier and slower, netting no gains whatsoever. Just rolling fender lips won't do anything. Replace with new stock Bilstein, koni shocks etc. Get a slightly stiffer than stock spring, and please run a 245 17 or 18 in tire on an otherwise stock RX-8. If you must run 9.5 width, then a 255 fits nice and may be optimal in certain conditions.

Is there a good source for OEM rear springs? My driver side seems to be sagging QUITE a bit.

Hi I have stock suspension with stock 18" wheels. Front measurement from bottom of rim to guard is 24.75" rear is 24"

Have ordered Koni Sport shocks and H&R Coils

If someone has similar set up please post measurements only 18" wheels though thanks

You should measure from center of the hub straight up to the fender.

Thought i would get a more accurate measurement holding end of tape under rim lip than guessing middle of hub

My height number were all over place new. 13.5 13.75 14.25 14.

I bought some .7inch and 1.4 inch Eibach lowering springs in the Bilstein B12 kit for $712. from Ajusa.

Someone at dealer before I saw car put 7.5 x18 Enkeis that are GF-1. Pretty and light. Also, make track 24mm wider because 38ET instead of 50 ET.

I made lemonade with it by putting Michelin PSS in 215/40r18, and traction is incredible.

Also, total weight is around 42 # per wheel

Suspension is wonderful at firm, and no bottoming.

IT RAISED SUSPENSION instead of lowering to 14.25 all around.

I think it's less firm than coilovers, and I never have to sweat adjustment.

I caught a Mazda coupon and got done for $580.

I not gonna take the beating to do myself, and it's one time deal done right.

Get a full alignment all around. All the settings have changed.
40mm lower? Be careful around speed bumps.

What did you end up doing for bump stops? These cars use the bump stop during normal suspension travel, it's part of normal operation.

Yeah, Konis are known to drop 0.5-0.75 inch lower than advertised. Goodwin Racing's store goes into detail about it, and there are many threads about that.
I'd leave the bump stops as they are if you haven't touched them yet. Those H&R springs aren't that stiff, could use the extra stiffness. If they disintegrate or the ride is unbearable, you can replace them then.

Alignment: why so little front camber? This set up looks like it would understeer. Good caster up front, but I wonder if you're better with a bit less caster (like 7 degree) if it buys you another degree of static camber.
