somethings not right...
I had Tein Stech springs installed to my car... but the car doesnŽt seem to have
been lowered much compared to the pics I see of other cars lowered by the same springs or other springs.... I had my bodyshop install them when they were working on my car after an accident... the bodyshop is mostly into fixing cars and not modding cars.. could they have installed the springs incorrectly? the ride of the car became a little harder after the install but that's because of the spring rate i suppose... if they had installed it incorrectly won't I have problems when driving? I haven't measured the distance from the ground to the wheel wells... and I'm out of the country now so I won't be able to measure it until the weekend.. it's just that I spent money on the springs and to get them installed, but I don't see much of a difference before and after.... anyone else had this kind of problems before? any input will be appreciated.... thank you in advance... |
You should notice that your car is lower, but depending on how long ago they were installed, I believe you need to give it time to settle.

Did they put a "load" on the car before tightening the control arms and links, etc..?

thank you for your thoughts.
I think it should have settled by now since I put about 1000 miles on the springs. I think what brothervoodoo said might be the problem... IŽll have to check it out... thanks again for your inputs. |
I'm having the same problem with my s-techs whats the deal with these springs the car isn't much lower at all????
|
hmm had mine for 2500+ miles im having the same issue with the back springs but not the front. I did load the springs while they were untightened. My back is now sitting higher than ever stock height.

maybe the bodyshop didn't cut the bumpstops?
it seems like according to the thread below, you need to cut them.... cutting them will lower the car a little more? |
post a pix
then i will dig up a pix of mine here i posted months ago. |
I'll try to post a pic after i get a chance to take one...
kinda busy registering for classes and getting the waitlists taken care of... thanks |
bumpstops won't affect the drop, just the ride quality. I think you should listen to brothervoodoo, untighten the control arms drop the car for a lil while retighten. A few others had this problem b/c they neglect this. So try it out when you have time this is likely the solution to your problem.
