same obvious question: what tire?

Live in san antonio most the year and in houston some of the time. Usually dry weather but oviously some rain. Had ice last year but that was a very rare occurance. My spending limit is pretty much in 250 range? (per tire of course). Parents said they will pay the price to replace stock tires and anything additional is on me. I thought the bridgestone S-03 pole positions were recommended quite often but tire rack has them for only $125. So either a great deal or should get a better tire? Obviously if that's a good tire and a good deal I'm going to want to just save the money for the good deal (if a more expensive tire is only going to be a little better).

So basically looking for a good tire for summer/dry that will work with a little rain, performs well and isnt too noisy. appreciate any advice.

side question: they say my front tires are the only ones that really need to be replaced and that my rears have a little bit left in them. I'm at 22k miles and considering replacing all at once but unsure if it's worth waiting to replace the rears. Pretty sure it's fine to have different front and rear tires but know it's bad to ahve different tires on left and right. so all at once or front 2 and wait on rears? Thanks in advance!

The S-03 is a wonderful tire being given away at Tire Rack. It's an older design which has held up rather well in terms of performance. Now it's on clearance. I use it as a daily driver/ track day tire.

Also, it's wise to use the same tire on all four corners.

seems like he's recommending its a good tire for ur use. but in cases u don't go with thoses and at that price (i don't see why not) then see if the tire store gives discount when purchasing 4 tires and just have 2 mounted. iirc, many tire stores give discount for a 4 tire purchase.

Theres tons of threads about this topic. I just bought the MAXXIS MA-V1s yesterday and I'm very happy with them....

well the pole positions seemed like a great deal so I went with them... 4 x 225/40R18. Any recommendations for where to have them mounted? I guess a better question would be which places to stay away from. thanks for replies! I'll update once they arrive and are mounted

completely missed the recommended installers thing... my bad lol. Got them in a few days ago and finally had time to get them mounted today... very satisfied. ride quality is much better and a lot less road noise. I had the stock tires and 24k miles on them so as you can imagine they were getting quite loud. As for grip and such... didnt really have a chance to drive hard yet seeing as it rained earlier for a while and by the time I had them on a thick fog had settled so I figured I'd play it safe. So far, very impressed.
