RX-8 rims on a Mazdaspeed6
Does anyone know if the bolt pattern for the stock RX-8 rim matches the pattern for the new Mazdaspeed6? I'm planning on mounting snows on my OEM Mazdaspeed6 rims and then putting summers on RX-8 rims next spring. Anyone know for sure if this will work? (I know it's a 18 x 7.5 rim vs a 18 x 7, which shouldn't be a problem).
Thanks, Greg |
They should have the same bolt pattern. Somebody here mounted some powder coated 8 rims on a Mazda 6 not too long ago. Dont remember who tho. By any chance you got any pics of the car? How's it handle?

You'll have to roll the rear fenders...otherwise its a great upgrade. Not only are the wheels lighter, but wider as well. They also look hella cool, and are pretty inexpensive.
235/40/18 would be a good tire size to run after the rear fenders are rolled. Btw you can fit 17's on the Mazdaspeed 6, if you want to save money on snows. |
So if the RX-8 stock rims will fit on the Mazda 6, what size rims are options for the RX-8? 16, 17, 18?

16x7.5 +50 (From the ATX's) This ONLY works on the standard 6, will NOT fit the MPS 6 without replacing the front brakes.
18x8 +50 (From the MTX or ATX's + Upgrade) You can get away without rolling the rear fenders on the 16's, if you watch your tire sizing, but you have to roll with the 8 inch wide ones. |
Thanks Cross, and yea, mine is just a standard 6, not MS.
Do the 16 and 18 inch wheels have the same styling, just different sizes? |
