TPMS is really an idiot light you know. It is always best to check the pressure with a real gauge. I'm doing away with the sensors on my Summer setup, but will leave them on my Winter setup.

18 X 7.5 Enkei MM2 takes them

They work with these. I have them in 19X8.5 on mine, and the TMPS worked within a 10 minute ride.

Its very useful when driving and the light goes off. Can alert you to a leak that you wouldnt have otherwise known. And yes of course you would then get out of your car and check it with a real gauge.

No kidding! I have my RX-8 since Jan '04. The TPMS warned me about 3X in 15K and then I got new wheels (with TPMS) and tires. About 6K into the new tires, I get a warning. I then see a road hazard damage (rip in the sidewall) and I have road hazard coverage. I get new tire on, and in 1 day the TPMS lights up again. This time I have a nail in another tire. RH replacement again. Only on rh#2, the valve was not seated right, and every morning for three days I received a warning and went back. It took five valve replacements to stop the leak. Needless to say I will go somewere else for tires next time, but the TPMS was alifesaver that week.

Oh darn, that makes me sad. I was just hoping and dreaming and praying for it to accept it. This sucks.

For those of you who have swapped to new wheels, did the tire shop charge extra to re-install the TPMS modules onto the new wheels ? (i.e. in addition to the standard mount+balance charges)

also, I'm assuming that the TPMS modules *are* transerrable from the OEM wheel? (dont' have to buy new ones for new wheels)

TIA

Rx8honey 01-26-2006 08:51 AM

No they didnt charge me extra to put them in the new wheels. And, Yes the TPMS are transferrable to a wheel that will take it.

\\Konig\\ 01-26-2006 08:37 PM

I'm guessing it depends on the tire shop that does the install. If you have connections then I doubt they will charge you more. If you don't then they may..or may not.

19" Konig Next

I've been thinking about 19" Konig Next wheels,

Anyone know if they work with the TPMS?

anyone know if Buddy Club P1 Racing 2 plus works?

19" Konig NEXT

they work just fine

OnRails 07-14-2006 12:42 AM

I'm sure this has been asked by someone before but I can't find an answer. What exactly makes a rim able to accept the TPMS? A flat spot? Some kind of indention on the inside of the rim? What about a certain wheel makes them not compatiable?
