Quick tyre question

Hey sorry if this has already been posted a trillion times but im trying to decide on new tyres. Looking at either the oem bridge stone RE050A or continental contisportcontact. (225/45/18...maybe even 235)
Can get both for roughly the same price....what's the go?

Or if someone has a better recommendation for roughly same price plz let me know.
Just using it on the street...must have excellent grip in the dry but not too fussed about the wet 😁
Would also like a nice stiff sidewall.

Cheers, Daniel

I'm fairly certain that the OEM tires were RE040, not the RE050A (at least in the US).

I don't know where you are (based on your spelling of "tyre", I'm guessing Europe) so I don't know what's available to you. I have the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position on my Infiniti and it's been a good tire for non-track use. Grippy, quiet, comfortable.

I'm in Australia...and tyre is the correct way to spell it
OK maybe I was wrong about the OEM tyres...well I can get a set of the 50s for about AUD$1000 (1150 for the continentals) so I'm open to any suggestions around that price.

Cheers, Daniel

Yah, it looks like the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 PP hasn't made it to your area of the world.

It looks like the Kumho Ecsta XS is available and a little cheaper. It will probably wipe the floor with the RE-050A's on grip but I doubt it will be as comfortable and can almost guarantee it won't last as long.
