Progress Tech front sway bar instructions are confusing
"THIS IS AN ADJUSTABLE SWAY BAR. THE HOLE TOWARD THE FRONT OF THE VECHICLE IS THE SOFEST SETTING. CHARACTRISTICS IN HANDLING HAVE BEEN ALTERED, USE EXTREME CAUTION DURING DRIVING. Attach the end links to the bar. The hole toward the front of the car is the firmest setting."
http://www.progressauto.com/ecom/download/61.1152.pdf So... which hole is the softest setting? Which is the firmest setting? |
I think firm is to the front, soft is towards the rear.
|
Correct. Or, more specifically, the hole nearest the pivot axis (i.e., the sway bar bushings) is the firmest setting, and the hole nearest the end of the sway bar is the softest.
|
Front swaybar - closer to the front is more stiff so if you were looking at the driver side [front-of-car][hard][med][soft]
Rear - closer to back is more stiff so looking from the drivers side [soft][hard][rear-of-car] |
Silly instructions

this just confused me too
