Powered by max tie rod spacers

These little spacers (7mm) make a huge noticeable difference when navigating a parking lot and other tight corners. Also a lot better steering response when drifting. Really easy to install and only cost 10$

Note: suspension is all stock.

Hm, wonder how it affects steering response on a real track. Are those tires stock? They look thin.

iLikeEatPoo 06-20-2009 11:30 AM

No they are sportwacks that came on the car when I bought it. 18x8.5 with 18/40/215 tire in the front

Rotr8 06-20-2009 11:47 AM

Any close ups? How long did they take to install?

iLikeEatPoo 06-20-2009 02:28 PM

Less than an hour to install and I never worked with tie rods before. But I have probably over 100 hours of wrenching on my rx7.

I test drove today and this is amazing. steering response is improved to were you will notice it only if your looking for it but the steering angle gains is unbelievable for such a cheap mod. You can almost do a U-turn in place and I have stock suspension.

Somebody please explain how this works :) I must be really dense today...if you extend the tie rods...it will toe out the front wheels.....2X14mm is A LOT of toe.....your tires will last about 2 weeks :( ? ?

Targatheory 06-20-2009 11:33 PM

also very interested in how this works.

iLikeEatPoo 06-21-2009 12:51 AM

Steering rack -> Spacer -> Tie rod -> wheel

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...lus86/Rack.jpg

Your wheels will be like / \ after you install them so you gotta adjust the tie rods until they are even again.

I might make a write up.

dannobre 06-21-2009 01:04 AM

Anything you do to change the effective length of the tie rod/steering assembly makes the toe change...adjusting it will negate any change..so what exactly does this do???

iLikeEatPoo 06-21-2009 01:14 AM

Not sure exactly how it works but it does.

These spacers are used by hundreds of people all over the world including several professional drifters from san diego so you know they are good.

dannobre 06-21-2009 01:17 AM

They would work for drifting...but for driving on the street..that kind of toe will eat tires....

swoope 06-21-2009 01:18 AM

wow

this is silly.

beers

lol this reminded me of the shamwow guy commercial where it says "made by the germans so you know its good."

Georgia8er 06-21-2009 10:08 AM

Your camber is way off.

iLikeEatPoo 06-21-2009 12:50 PM

it looks off when its on full lock but it's actually just almost zero in the front a -1 in the rear

I wouldn't mod a car that is just a daily driver. I hit the track at least once a month so this is a very worth while mod in my eyes.

cajunrx8 06-21-2009 04:00 PM

If you add 7mm to the length of the tie-rods then adjust the toe back 7mm to std toe what is the gain???
Not saying it doesn't work but mighty strange.
Can you take a headon shot of the car down one side to see the toe deflection??

The only thing this mod is good for is a drifting car..........

AMG-RX7 06-22-2009 04:16 PM

Aren't you the guy that supposedly drove your car off a cliff with your mad tight driving skills? :) ;)

TeamRX8 06-22-2009 06:57 PM

I think you've had enough poo for one day, particularly with that helping of crow .... :evil_laug

iLikeEatPoo 06-23-2009 09:41 AM

No I never drove my car off a cliff lol.

I wasn't the one driving. And I seem to miss how this effects the "results" of this mod.

I'm simply showing a mod and the results so if anyone was wondering the effects of it they could see it. I'm not promoting anything. So people who actually track their cars frequently like me can see this is the cheapest and easiest mod to achieve greater steering angle.

Targatheory 07-08-2009 01:49 AM

I am still interested in how this works for you.

Anything new you want to say?

iLikeEatPoo 07-18-2009 01:38 AM

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._4872245_n.jpg

They are so worth the 10$. and I am stock.

Bump stop is not effected. steering response is a little sharper than normal takes getting use to on the track but not I never noticed it when daily driving.
