Potenza Re960as Pole Position

Has anyone had these tires. They are rated as an excellent tire on tirerack. I need all season tires because I live in an area where it snows early and could snow into beginning of april.

I have these tires on my car and have been very pleased with them. You give up some of the "turn-on-a-dime" characteristics of the summer tires but they are a great compromise if you don't want to mess with two sets of tires. They're the #1 tire according to the TireRack survey results based on a lot of miles. Run them around 35 psi to get better responsiveness.

I finally got Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires. They are extreme performance summer tires. I use Dunlop winter sport M3 tires in the winter anyway. I figured I would get much better grip from the RE-01R's for the summer.

I'm really torn b/t the 960as vs. the 050 pole positions.

I've only had the car for 10 days with nearly shot dunlop 8090 (stock size).
Would I be doing my car and myself an injustice by going with the RE960as over the 050's?

FWIW, I am bumping to 245/40's all around, so will the extra width make up for the slightly less grip that the 8090's offered (even though they're 80% worn?)

I'd really like to get some better mileage out of my tires, which is what lead me to the 960's--It has to be bridgestone for me b/c I get a pretty big discount through a friend that works with them...

I run the RE050A Pole Positions at the moment.
See my garage for sizes.

It guess the re760's need a long hard look too...

*edit*.
My local firestone has the re760's mounted balanced, out the door for $750.10. They also have a 15% coupon in circulation whcih brings the total to $637.50...Not bad fo 4 new skins.

That's with a base price of $137/tire. Compared to $219/tire for the 050, and $208/tire for the 960's, it seems like my mind has been made up. Not to mention the high treadware claims bridgestone is making for the 760's

I just wish there were a few more reviews on them here. Oh well, new 245/40's of any tire will surely blow me away compared to the beat down dunlop 8090 stockers I have now.
