considering new Wheels

I was considering getting some new 5Zigen USA Pro racer ZR+520 Wheels 18 x 8.5 J, 5h-114.3 deep face Two and +47 offset anybody have any experience with these wheels and this offset? I believe the stock 18" wheel offset is 50? My tires are stock Dunlop Sp Sport 225 45R 18" 91W
These Wheels look good on other similar vehicles and are similar to Works Emotion CR, but spokes come out to rim edge making the wheel look biger.

PS this wheel is not a TPMS wheels so light will stay on. Anyone else have experience with this situation? My nieghbor does this with aftermaket wheels on his for winter tires with no problem except anoying tire presure light when wheels are changed over and switches back for summer and resets monitor.

BigRed 10-20-2007 03:53 PM

i dont like how the spokes go out to the lip^ otherwise its nice though

You have too many colors imo^ Chrome, silver, red, black, yellow fogs, and rust rotors;) It would look nicer if you lose the chrome fuel cap, paint your rear rotors red, and take the yellow fogs off. I think I posted this before though. The red on the wheels is delicious though:)

^you need some center caps on your wheels in a bad way, that rust showing through on the hub ruins it.

The works don't come with caps. Atleast I haven't been able to find them for a set I was going to buy.

it's just spray painted with flat black and clear coated, I'll have it powdercoated when it's time for me to get a new set of tires (Nitto NT01's 274/40R17). I also removed the centercaps so I can get them anodized (black)

d_j,

Why is that gap in your hood so huge near the windshield?

Are those the Tein dampers you have in there?

If Teins, I have them as well and my gaps is about 1/4 of what yours appears to be. Sorry, but that looks messed up! :Eyecrazy:

I have spacers on my hood to create a gap between the firewall and the hood...
aka: hood rise spacers, I've had it my FC and my AE86 and decided to do the same with the 8.

Okay....got it, that was what I was hoping you would say!
I know that some have been doing it to let some hot air out of the engine bay.
Spacers are located between the hood and the brackets for the dampers? Remember how thick they are?
Thanks..........Dave

yes, in between the damper bracket and the hood hinge. I think it's 1" - 1 1/4" and a set of longer bolts

8rotor8 11-08-2007 11:55 PM

Not too bad DJ, did you get them powder coated? or just paint them?

 that’s a good one ocra a drop sure would be nice. But :uhh: my man told me if I drop the ride its going to rub no matter what cuz of the wide ass tires. I researched around and posted hoping to confirm this but to no avail. It just doesn’t seem right somehow. Heres the scoop:

...considering the Eibach springs for the progressive feature, seems pretty cool. Used a measuring tape earlier today and it looked as if a 1.4” drop in the front is definitely going to rub, even if we shaved the fenders, at least from what it looked like just by looking at it in front of us. The tires seems too damn wide so it looks as if I might have fucked up by not researching enough before choosing the tire sizes :banghead: The setup:

18x8.5 38mm w/ 245/40ZR-18 (front)
18x9.5 38mm w/ 275/35ZR-18 (rear)

The tech dude who assisted me in the measurement said swapping out the tires will help. Specifically moving the 245/40ZR-18s to the front and swapping out the 275/35ZR-18 in the back for 225/30ZR-18 in the front. It really did look like this is the solution according to the tape and what we were looking at in front of us.

I really don’t want to swap out the tires I have had them almost 2 months so it will be a challenge doing this. I would like to avoid this route…if possible. Will someone please kindly share their experience if they are running a similar set up? Someone please chime in something! As you can see from the sig the ride is in need a drop...!

Again this just doesn’t sound right. Can anyone puhliz confirm my dude is WRONG?!?! I hope :lol2:

Kane 11-25-2007 12:05 PM

Going to need a roll I bet. I am +28mm on 19 by 9.5 and I needed a fender roll.
