That picture really doesnt do it justice. I stand there after washing and see 'faded' marks on all 4 wheels and it just bugs me. Ill call Enkei today and see what could be done. Im just bummed.

im sorry to hear about your fading but i've had mine ever since the group buy and mine are completely fine. And to be totally honest, in the ~year ive had them, my wheels have only been washed maybe 7 times....and only with water and a towel. I used to have black OZ ultraleggeras (spelling?) and i had the same fading problem and it turned out it was because i was using a wheel cleaner meant to "eat" the brake dust. which ended up "eating" my finish.

edit: just saw ur picture. hmm i dono what that could be from man...i dont have anything like that, talk to enkei see whats up. My wheels may also be doing better than yours also because every time i wash them i put a weak spray wax on them....i dono?

I didn't realize this thread was yours :lol2: I was going to point out that it was just because of letting brake dust eat its way into the paint finish, but since you've only been using them for a month, that shouldn't be. Also, since you have it on all 4 wheels, it's a bit of a hard argument to say it was a wheel defect, unless the paint used for your batch of wheels at the factory all turned out bad.

Being funny here, but maybe it could just be some cat/dog that likes to pee on your wheels? I mean there's this cat that loves to do that on my foglights all the time. It's sooo annoying.

Oh and as for cleaning/maintaining the wheels.. you may want to put a good coat of wax/polish on the wheels. Poor Boy's has one specifically for wheels, but I've never used one.. heard it's good. I myself have used Zaino Z2 (about once or twice a year) on my OEM wheels and they still look great after 2 years. Only washed with water and car shampoo, somewhat frequently. A couple weeks ago, I tried the Zaino Clear Seal product as a treat for my OEM's just before my aftermarket wheels take the rein. It makes the surface very smooth and I think will outperform the Z2 by miles over time too.... actually this weekend I'm planning on putting the Z-CS on the wheels inside and out before the tires are mounted ^_^.

Maybe baked on brake dust? Try P21s Wheel cleaner followed by a clay bar after they are dry. The P21s is proven to be completely safe for all wheels since it is non acidic. It should be fine on your wheels. I haven't tried it on my Volks since I am scared shitless to try anything on the anodized finish. Mine never get that bad since I have ceramic pads and wax my wheels monthly. Do the wheels look fine after washing them? You do know that after washing them, the brake rotor is wet due to oxidation. When you apply the brakes after this, the coating comes off and gets on the wheels. Happens with every car.

You will HAVE TO GET GOOD PICS, detailing the issues so i can send a good email to Enkei and submit a claim. They have the right to refuse of course. The more ammo you give the better your chances are.

Downside, you might not have wheels if they require them for inspection and next shipment isn't coming for a month or two.
