New wheel setup

When i bought the car it came with 19" staggered tsw's. The replacement tires are $325-350 each and the rims can only fit one type of tires(ventus) super low profile. When I took them off they were heavy.
New set up: 4lbs lighter than stock total Enkie Imola 7-spoke 18" on Dunlop performance all season245/45/18(only $150 each w/$40 mail in rebate).
I love this set up! The roads are not great in seattle and i occasionally go on gravel roads when I go on road trips/Camping. Compared the previous set up, im riding on a cloud. Now my fillings wont rattle out when i go over the littlest of bumps.

grats on the new wheels but the part about the wheels only fitting "one type of tire" doesn't make any sense to me.
who told you they only fit Hankook Ventus tires?

KCdistruckto 07-05-2010 05:07 PM

dude at les schwab, maybe he was just trying to sell me the most expensive tires he had. The rims were staggered too, maybe that was the reason idk

+1

The only way this could have been true would have been if the tire shop didn't have any other tires in that size in stock; in that case, I could see him saying something along the lines of, "The only tire that'll fit it is the Ventus..."

tbk 07-06-2010 01:18 AM

and why not 245/40/18 instead?

KCdistruckto 07-07-2010 11:28 PM

softer ride for potholes, fill the wheel well more, why not?

Ross_Dawg 07-08-2010 10:10 AM

gear ratio, weight; it's all good though. A 245/40 would have been closest to stock size but if you're happy with the setup that's all that matters.

LOL@ $325 tires, I wouldnt go back to that tire shop again.

Potholes - lots of those over here in Richmond! The Pothole capital.

Are the wheels rubbing on the rear fenders with 245/45? Just curious.

KCdistruckto 07-09-2010 12:14 AM

no they dont rub. I wish i could lower my car and get thin tires if i lived somewhere where the state takes care of roads and downtown isnt steep ass hills then yea

tbk 07-09-2010 08:23 AM

everyone complains that the roads where they live are shit, just lower it and get the right size tires.

KCdistruckto 07-09-2010 02:56 PM

no, i might get a lift kit tho to piss you off. this is my car

tbk 07-09-2010 05:14 PM

lol do it

KCdistruckto 07-10-2010 02:48 PM
