New Rims (Spacer/Stud Help?)

Hello I am looking for advice on spacers and studs,

I have a 07 rx8 with stance coilovers lowered with Volk SF Challenge 19x8.5 +23 fronts, and 19x9.5 +28 for the back. and im going in the shop to get my fenders rolled/pulled in the next few weeks(when i get time) so i can finally put my new wheels on.
I was looking for what size wheel spacer would be best for my setup?
Also take into account, my studs are horribly bad, and i plan on replacing them, so depending on what spacer you suggest, some come with studs on them that bolt on and other you need extended studs, so i plan on getting replacement ARP Studs normal or extended if that changes your suggestion at all.

Other Info -
Tires
F - 235/35/19
B - 275/30/19

I've researched a lot but i haven't seen someone who ran rim sizes like i am talk about spacers so i really am just looking for some expert advice, im not looking for links or to hold my hand, just solely for some professional advice, thanks guys.

Check my thread in the DIY section, I went through all this stud bullshit a few weeks ago.

Be ready for a whole day of DIY or a good 6-7 hours at a shop.

Mikami 05-27-2012 02:36 PM

haha thanks! *checking now*

Mikami 05-27-2012 02:42 PM

Yeah I actually read your thread before, i pretty much searched rx8club for studs and spacers and read everything, so i know which regular or which extended studs to get, i was just looking for some advice on my setup for what mm spacers would be good for me?

Munchy 05-27-2012 02:58 PM

It depends what you're aiming for... I put 7mm spacers on 19x11 +25 cause I'm crazy like that.

Mikami 05-27-2012 03:06 PM

haha you also have 11's

But would you happen to have a pic of the spacing after you put them on?

Munchy 05-27-2012 03:40 PM

Best thing is to use an online calculator to determine how much you want to extend from how you are sitting now.

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

I used to be at 10.5 +15, and I wanted to extend a bit so I decided on 10.5 +12, which in turn became 11 +18.

Mikami 05-27-2012 03:57 PM

ooo thats useful, ill do it when i get home, thanks!

Mikami 05-30-2012 10:11 PM

so it says an extra 40 and 41 mm extended out, from stock, without spacers, so how many mm would it take past stock to get to your setup?

Stock specs are:
18x8 +50

My wheels (with the spacers) are:
19x11 +18

So according to the calculator, I lost 6mm inner clearance and I extended outer position by 70mm.

So if you really want to match my setup, you'll need 37mm spacers in the front and 29mm spacers in the rear lol (Don't do this. My setup is stupid.)

Mikami 06-03-2012 10:33 AM

hahaha i'll probably do 25 rear and 30 front and since im putting my car in the shop at the end of the month to get painted ill have them pull my fenders to my liking.

Now the question is. Should i do a through spacer and get extended studs which im guessing you did, or get normal studs (which i need to lookup the arp part number) and get the spacers with built-in studs on them.

Munchy 06-03-2012 10:47 AM

I prefer the extended studs method, just make sure whichever spacers you buy are hubcentric AND wheelcentric.

Mikami 06-03-2012 11:05 AM

So

Eibach and Project KICS use the normal studs and have studs built on or screw into the spacer.

What are some brands that have the straight through that use extended?

Im searching and searching rx8club but cant find any nice straight through ones, only rusted on fs ones or craigslist disaster stories haha

What brand spacer did you use?

Munchy 06-03-2012 11:18 AM

I bought Powered By Max spacers, but they don't have studs built in.

Get some custom spacers made?

hey Munchy,

Im stuck on this one page for making my own spacers

Please enter the Center Bore of your new wheels. The wheel manufacturer can supply this information, or you can measure them or have them measured by a machine shop. They are typically measured using a micrometer, and the measurement is to the hundred thousandth. ~~~ I have no idea what the center bore would be? do i really have to take my rims and get them checked? haha

Mikami 06-03-2012 01:55 PM

so according to Volk racing for my sf challenges in 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 my center bore is 73.1

Munchy 06-03-2012 02:09 PM

There you go. Most aftermarket JDM wheels are 73.1 so they're universal fit with hub rings.

Like I said, just make sure you get the custom adapters with the hub lip. I don't have these but I'm only running 7mm, not 25-30mm.

EDIT: I see you picked that option already.

Mikami 06-03-2012 02:18 PM

you mean this part?

Yeah

Mikami 06-03-2012 03:08 PM

Any clue to as if i'll need the extended studs with this custom one or if they has the welded on studs? and if i need the extended ones i believe these are the correct ones?

Dear lord this isn't going to turn out well.

Mikami 06-03-2012 03:28 PM

haha why do you say that?

J8635621 06-03-2012 03:29 PM

You don't know what you are doing AT ALLLLLLLL

Mikami 06-03-2012 03:33 PM

Tis' why im not doing my own studs and getting them done, i give munchy credit for doing his but i'd rather my shop do mine.
As for the spacers, i've measured it out, its going to fit exactly how i want, and im going to have my fenders pulled/rolled if nessecary before it goes in for painting.
What would you like to question?

J8635621 06-03-2012 03:34 PM

I question your ability to measure (munchy had his studs done at a shop too fyi)
