Need help on rims and tires

Hey everyone, I have about $1,000 to spend right now and I need new tires really bad and i have one rims that is messed up.. So im looking at getting new rims and tires. I have the 05 VR rx8. I need some input on what to get. heres a pic of how my car is now.

I would get some 245/40 tires, then save up some more money for wheels.

^ I have been looking on there. I found a couple that I think will look good but buying rims isnt easy.
