Need help! with camber and fender rolling and/or shaving... Thanx Nyc....
 

Hey guys. Soon I will have a new wheel set up. Mabye in within a week or so. They will reqiure a role and camber. Pls no flaming/just help thanx...

My question is; Where is the camber adjustment on the front and rear of the rx8?

2nd question; In lots of threads people talk about shaving the rear liner or relocating the rear bummper reinforcement bolt. Does anyone gave a picture of this? or can go take a picture of it? and can someone elaborate a littel more on this subject?

1. if you don't know where to adjust the alignment on an 8, I highly recommend you NOT do it yourself.
honestly, I'm not trying to sound like an ass but it's not just about turning the bolt one way or another. Find a local alignment shop and have them do it. I think Firestone and places like that will do it for about $50

2. if you look inside your rear fender well, you'll see a big clip where the bumper attaches.
I believe that's what they're talking about.
Have you gotten your fenders rolled yet?

Thought you were getting T-ReX-8's wheels?
Dont they already fit on the car? Or are you getting different wheels?

1. Yes; I was definitly going to bring it to a shop. I heard people can do it them self so I was curious.

2. I was planing on going to a shop tomarrow to get them rolled. I just wanted an idea of how/what people shaved visually. Just incase I have too if the role +camber isn't enough.

Hey no flaming. Be cool. Street drifting doesn't = Master at aligning wheels.

Keep it on the low lol.

Go to an alignment place, don't shave the rear lip, that's what holds that part on, just roll/pull it. But since you'll have the same setup as me, if you pull it, the fronts will no longer be flush. PM me about fitment, I'll tell what you need

What's ironic about this is that technically speaking, to adjust camber, it is literally as easy as turning one bolt one way or the other...

I agree, just PM T-Rex and Imput about fitting, they'll know what to do.

Congrats on the new wheels. I can't believe you paid $1350 for 17" FN01's with mismatched tires though!

thats kinda overpriced, mine was 900 with new tires, and wheel was/is mint.

Yeah dremeld out a bit of that, and then used a mallet to hammer in some of that, but he's talking about the rear lip on the quater, then I let the tire do the rest lol. But if your not as low it's a easy fit.

900 thats crazy. I found the wheels for 900 shipped no tires. with the tires i wanted, the tires alone would of been 600. =1400. plus these were time attack. they kept my theme going.
I had to big reasons for these.

1. I needed rims ASAP it was a emergency.

2. I didnt want to go back to low profile tire's, because in NYC the roads are too fucked up for big rims small tires. I just would've ran into the same problem I have now.

^ You gotta remember the wheels only cost about 1k shipped new.

if your not going lower, you should not have many problems, remove the front fender liner, roll all around. I think you should be good. I should be going a lot lower soon, so a pull will serve you best if you want to go low

NYC - have you taken a look in the wheel well where the connecting point is?

I actually got a super great deal from "T Rex" . I should put him up on the good guy thread for working with me so well. he also gave me good pointer of how to get them to fit correctly. but I started this thread to get ----------- Pictures of the Inner wheel wells with a roll and/or shave's to get an idea of how agressive to go---------------------

junction between rear bumper, and rear 1/4 is what tilt is talking about. I don't think your low enough for that to matter tho.

so what wheels are you getting?

I still have not done much about my rear tires rubbing the bumper/fender mounting tab. I'm still rubbing often when my suspension fully compresses. It's getting annoying now, so when I get the time I'm going to have to trim them in and bend them upwards a bit. I'm always driving agressively so I absolutely hate the rubbing issue and sound.

Your fenders aren't rolled? Get on that! A proper setup won't rub at all because although they might not mind it in the streets, that rubbing is multiplied by XX when the car is driven someplace like on the track.

NYC Drift - Next time my car is up on jacks (way more often than it should!) I'll snap some pictures. I've got a suspicion you don't need to pull the fenders like Imput did. When you do us the rolling tool once you think you may have good clearance, Let the car down and back it up with only one wheel on a rhino ramp. The wheel will fully compress and you'll see where/if it clears and by how much. Another method is to leave wood/bricks underneath the wheel when you let the car down but I could never get it to compress fully that way.
