My suspension setup and D-Spec Setting!!!
 

I hope this might help some people who trying to decide what to get for their suspension.

What I have (My car is 05-GT) Installed in order:
Eibach pro spring,
Rear Upper Strut Bar,
Goodyear F1 - All Season: 245/40-18 on all four corners/OEM wheels,
Racing Beat Front and Rear Sway Bar,
Tokico D-Spec,

My Experience:
1) Eibach Spring install, car look nice, don't feel much with OEM Shock. Car look lower than OEM but much lower in the back than front (did pre-load!).

2) Rear Upper Strut bar was install at the same time as the spring so car feel a bit solid if do tight turn. Not much improve!

3) Had a set of Michelin PS2 - 245/40 installed, side wall too soft, car warble (Part my spelling!) drive home one day, hit something hard on the freeway, the side wall got cut can't repair! Replace with Goodyear F1 All season. More road noise, but so much better ride up to 125MPH (that the fastest I ever go) excellent control and feel much more solid. Tire cost almost half as much and so far last much longer!!!

4) Install Racing beat Sway bar front and rear, WOW...! Car handle so much better from which I already happy before the install! Body roll, I can still feel but not much.

5) Install D-Spec --
First, confuse F and S thinking S for stiff, turn all the way up. Car drives like a BMW/Lexus.
Later call Tokico, find out F for Firm and S for Soft so start to play with setting. Here is what I use so far:

-Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore, I backup toward S four and half turn. Car feel a little floating - not too tight.
-Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore, I backup toward S four turn. Car still feels a little floating - still not tight.
-Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore, I backup toward S Rear only to three and Half. Front feel floating and back is tight but not much notice. Start to feel some pumps on the road doing around 30MPH.
-Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore, I backup toward S front only to three and half turn. Car still feel a little floating - somehow still not happy.
-Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore, I backup toward S front and rear to three turn. Bingo, as far as street driving go, really happy. Feel some pumps, car really tight, no more body roll this setting is perfect for my set up on street. (Have never been to AutoX)!

-Last but not least, turn all the way.........F, I backup toward S two and half turn. I got stuck in free way traffic. Man I feel every pumps and I mean every freaking pumps on the freeway. There were a good 5 miles on the 405 pass OSO Pkwy, there were pumps feel like every 5 feet or so. By the time a get to where I wanted to be, my whole body was sore from neck to toe.


So this is my setup and setting for my suspension. Anyone who likes to add their, so other can have more info before they decide what to buy for their car I am sure is greatly appreciated as I am.

Thanks to all the info I read from here, DPE comparisons between KONI and D-Spec and to everyone's opinions and thoughts about their suspension setup.

ok,

i have the pretty much same setup..

same springs and shocks.. but progress tech sways. more bracing front and rear.

but i really have no idea what you are talking about or looking for.

btw, the d specs have 7 full turns between full firm and soft.. make sure you turn them all the way in first.

I don't have any question, just want to share some thoughts about my set up.

Please share your thoughts about your set up and what setting you use on the street (I guess most people here drive more on street than track) on your D-Spec. Do you have the same tire and wheel?

According to Tokico, actually the D-Spec have up to 7 1/2 turns between Firm and Soft. That's why you see me keep repeating -Turn all the way to F until I can't turn anymore.

Im looking to get the d-specs for street/ track use. I currently have my eibach springs on oem shocks and well the ride quality seems terrible. Im hoping the d-specs will eliminate this problem and allow me to float over bumps when on soft and when i want a more aggressive ride i can turn them up to firm.

I will be installing Tokico Dspec and H&R springs on my car. Car is getting a new engine at the moment. It could be a month before I get this combination installed. I will update.

i have the same tire size and a similar tire.. lighter wheels..

my thoughts are that if you track or autox the car is the springs are a bit low in the back. i am going to be changing that in the next week or two.

the ride quality is very good. i run the fronts 1 turn out from full soft, the rears 2 turns out on the street..

Thanks for the info. Like I said, I don't track or autoX, but sure will keep in mind about the high in the back if I do track one day (I would love to take my car to the track someday, just haven't got a chance to do it yet).

For the setting, to put in the other way: front 6 1/2 turn out from Firm and Back is 5 1/2 turn out from Firm.

This is why info like this is very valuable. swoope said the back is too low for track so keep that in mind when you decide to buy D-spec with Eibach spring. My rear end is really low as well, I can only run one fingure over the tire in the back.

and a note to all with the adjusters in the back. always screw them full in and back them off to where you want when making adjustments..

if you back them off to far you can ruin the adjuster cables. ask me how i know.. :(
