This may be a dumb question...
I'm about to buy snow tires and I'm wondering if I HAVE to buy new wheels as well? Or can I put them on my stock wheels and then come spring switch back to my summer tires.. Sorry if this is a terrible noob question but just wanted to make sure.

You can put em on stock wheels, or you can buy new ones. Your choice.
|
And I won't hurt my summer tires by taking them off and putting them back on later?
|
No, it will not.
|
No, but it may hurt your wheels if the techs aren't careful.
When I got my new wheels I had fairly new tires on my stockers so I had them removed and put on the new wheels. I called around and most tire places will do it for around $100. If you are buying the tires the shop will probably do this for free, but come spring you'll have to pay to get the summer tires back on. So after just a couple of years, a set of cheap wheels will pay for themselves. Plus you can go with 17" wheels and tires which are cheaper. |
Perfect! Your a huge help... You just saved me $400+ dollars.

damn, that's a good point. Haha well now I'm stuck again.
