I went with coilovers for the height adjustment and space and Rb sways seem to be everyones favorite from what i can tell. Let me know what you think.

The TEIN Flex's are okay, I've heard a lot of guys on here using these as a beginner coilover setup. I do agree with stuntman though, if you're gonna drop that kinda of cash, you should probably just get the KW V2's...they are around the same price and you will not be disappointed.

As for the RB sways, they are good, we use them in our race cars...but I personally like the Hotchkis adjustable sways that I currently have on the car right now.

Went to KW's website and it looks like the V3's are the only ones that they make for the 8. Anyone heard of any problems with the external reservoir hitting?

PM Polak. He has a deal on the V3's on this site for <$2K. Also there are a couple of vendors here that sell them.

A couple of people you could PM about their performance that have them on their cars:

dannobre
razz1
mazdaferas

V1 and V2 isn't listed on the site yet but they are made for the RX8.

not to rain on anyones party..

but shocks and springs vs kws. even when you could get them at polaks price are two different worlds..

at polaks price it was ~ 700 vs 1700. now it is 700 vs 2k+ not really the same talk.

the question was about springs. and then shocks...

I'm running Koni shocks and racingbeat springs.

It dropped alot more than I wanted. On the bright side, it seems when there is alot of weight in the car the ride height doesn't go down as much. I had 5 passengers the other day with 200lbs of tools in the trunk.

If you wait 2 weeks I will do a full write up on my set up with some opinions from my codriver. It would be sooner but I'm waiting on tires to get here. I think shaunv74 is running koni's and swift springs so hopefully I can get his opinion on his set up since I was considering it as well.

I was torn between racingbeat springs and swift springs but settled on racingbeat springs due to getting a great deal on them.

Re-read post #25.

The single adjustable V2 MSRP is around $1,700. I'm sure you could find a shop to get it for under MSRP.

I haven't put my swifts on yet still on the OEM springs but running the Konis and RB sways. At the driver skills class yesterday I was able to get a pretty good feel for the setup. The car is still balanced and nicely progressive when it let's go. It tends to understeer first it it's easy to correct with throttle. And when you start getting hot in the slalom you can feel the tail starting to come out a little before it gets out of shape. It's really cool as I was able to feel it start to rotate but was able to work my way out of it again with the throttle without losing the rear end or too much speed.

there is still a lot of nose dive and see sawing a little more than I'd like in the slalom and braking but I really like how the back end feels and works with the setup I have now. I'm hoping the Swifts will help with this.

That and I'd like to look at some stickier or wider tires next time as I am engaging the antilock too easily once I really get on the brakes.
