Installing bilsteins pss9

i've just spent 2 days trying to install these damn coilovers at a workshop and they're having trouble with shitloads of things. well they didn't come with tops so i used the factory ones and now after theyve been installed theres a massive rattling sound at the back everywhere i drive. basically when theres pressure on the back coilovers. the workshop think its the tops and because the coilovers and too long with factory tops making a loud sound. could anyone help me with this? thanks. i have 05 model auto and bought the coilvoers from here.

Sounds like the shop either:

1. Did not install them correctly
2. Did not tighten everything down
3. Your endlinks are binding or on wrong
4. Your endlinks are loose.

your stock top-hats should be just fine. The spring diameter is probably the same or smaller with the pss9's so fitment shouldn't be an issue.

Search for an shock/spring install DIY, and the threads about the pss9's. Valuable info can be found. Installing the pss9's should be about the same as installing any other shock/spring for the 8.

Do you have a torque wrench available? Check the torque on the endlinks and report back. There is a LOT of slack on the stock enlink points, so even the slightest loosening of the bolts will cause significant rattling.
