How low without scrubbing
Hey guys i was wondering how much can i lower in mm my 8 so i won't be getting any scrubbing from the tire. With 18''.
thanks |
Im no expert on slamming but i think it depends on how wide a tire you're running not what diameter rim you're using.
If you're running stock wheels and tire sizes, Im on koni yellows and tein s-tech and there's still loads of room to go. In the summer i run enkei rpf-1 17x9+45 with 255/35/17 and then i occasionally scrape the bottom of the car on a speed bump or driveway. It all depends on how low you want to go and how the roads are in your area. |

stock wheels are 18x8+50.
I THINK it is around 3-3.5 inches, but at that point your tire will be in the fender liner. on springs with stock tires and wheels and no spacers i think you can get to 2.5 inches without rubbing, depending on the spring and shock combo. RSR downsprings and koni yellows will get you there. im at 2inches on sprint springs and i have no rubbing issues on stock size tires and wheels. realistically anything over and including a 2inch drop should be done with coilovers. |
Go as low as you can, nature will take its course on your tires and they will eventually stop scrubbing lol

Don't put spacers when you go so low.

If you are sitting on stock wheels with no spacers then you can probablly drop that bitch pretty low. Will probably look weird, but yeah. Only way for you to find out is to lower it and adjust. Whether that be raise it back up or do some fender work.

Keep in mind if you change your wheels its going to change everything. If low is your goal and you want different rims later, I highly suggest coilovers for a low stance. |
