How do you measure ride height, and what is it stock?
 

Seems the standard advice is to measure from the wheel center to the lip of the fender well. Is that what you do? Is there a better way? Anyone know what the stock ride height for a 2005 is?

My 07 6speed auto Gt was at 14.25 inches front, and 13.75 rears new.

I had it aligned and rear camber showed -2.1 on one wheel, so I had both prears put at -1.9.

next year I went back, and rears were back at -2.1 so I had camber turned down o both to -1.65 deg.

Apparently the rears sagging were causing more understeer by dialing in to much neg camber.

Specs are 15.5 inches down to 13.5; mine are at a happy 14 now.

Everyone gets confused talking about "lowering springs"; car is already low.

Thanks for the feedback, 40w8. I take it these measurements are from the center of the wheel to the fender. I haven't had a chance to check mine today, since it's been raining non-stop. My car was slightly too low when I bought it, scraped in driveways on a regular basis, so I wanted to lift it enough to prevent that.

Center of hub to fender is the normal method, as it accounts for inconsistencies in the concrete underneath the car. I don't know what stock is. Mine is set at 13.5" all around with a full tank of gas. That gives me a little positive rake at the track as the tank goes down to half, which helps handling a bit at the extremes.

After 9 years and only 33k miles, I got tired of big thunk on any bump, and bought the Bilstein B12 kit AJUSA.com which brought up rears from 13.5 to 14.25 approx. or might settle to 14.

Suspension feels as good as I could want, and should last life of car as I know it.

With same 14 all around I look slightly down at track instead of like I'm dragging ass.

Thanks guys. I just measured with a tape measure and I'm about 14 all around. When I get a chance I'll do a more precise measurement.

I just lifted it .5 - .75". It still scrapes, but not as easily or as badly. I'd try lifting it another .25-.5" or so, but I don't want to screw up the alignment by raising it too much. I'll drive it for a while like this, and if it does't scrape too often I'll leave it where it is.
