Help me decide on a great deal on wheels

I wasn't planning on getting some aftermarket wheels so soon but there is a great deal on some wheels locally. I live in Hawaii so shipping for 4 wheels run about $250-300. I was looking at some rpf-1 for about $1300 shipped (no tires) but came across this local ad.

HRE 540R Wheel for IS350 or GS line
19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear, its 5x114.3
235/35/19 front and 275/30/19 rear

Seller doesn't know the offset but will look for that info. He says that he bought it from his friend who bought it new for $6000, wheels only. Seller is selling it for $2500.

I'm pretty sure it'll fit my 8 but I wanted you opinions.
1. whether I should buy it (is it a good deal?)
2. will it fit my stock 8

Thanks.

I think I heard that the IS offset is the same as RX8 fitment but don't quote me on that. Go on the IS forums definitely and scope around :suspect:

Judging from the front/rear lip sizes the offsets do not look very low. Depending on the rear offset the 275 tire might be a little bit of a tight fit but you can always get new rear tires.

But seriously $2500 for HRE's I would buy them anyway :D:

The offset does not look real aggressive on the IS. Based on the stock offset I think you will be fine. Great looking wheels!

Yep, the latter will fit fine (my wife has an is250 with similar). They're very nice wheels, but of course allot of nooks & crannies to clean. They're also significantly heavier than stock and of course also the Enkei RPF1. As you probably know our stock 18x8 wheels are +50 offset.

I love the look of the wheels, and what a sweet deal!

should i get it or not? Need more input.

I wouldn't. Only because the specs are too conservative. With that money, I'd go with another set of wheels with a more aggressive offset and size.

Not everyone wants an aggressive setup. These wheels are probably +35/+40 which will look good.

suggestions in terms of offset and size?
suggestions on wheels at that price range?

How about the RPF1's you're also considering? Stock-comparatively strong and light weight all the way to 18x9.5. +38 is popular to give a fender-flush appearance.

Yeah, I'm debating between the two. Used HRE= more bling but heavier. RPF1 new, cheaper but everyone has them. Less bling also. Was also considering the rpf1 rc cause it's nicer but more expensive and heavier. Haven't seen an rc yet on an 8.

i'd say vote no, the rx and is are totally different type of cars, it might look good on an is, but it might not just give the same WOW on our cars just my opinion ~.~
